Thanks Dick for pointing out my lack of super clarification by that quick wit of yours. You know I add it to the outside of course!!! (HA) For those reading this, Virginia's humidity did cause me to add a bumper to the Bond Lee sets. There's nothing worse than having a ball stuck when you don't want it to be! That IS the absolute solution for all ball sets. Well, I haven't tried a quick dab of super glue and that might actually work. I'll report back if it works since we are only trying to stop the suction effect. Wish me luck friends!

The bumper is not permanent, that's what is good about it. Just in case you want to do ball through silk at some point. You don't have to buy a new ball.
Try slow drying epoxy, if you must, the resin helps. |

I would love to try these out but they are just to small. I would love to see a set that is 2 inches or larger.

Bill, yes, but the 2" are not indeed 2". The SHELL is 2", the ball measures 1.85"

No, JL website says they have 1.7, 1.85, 2, 2.5 balls in the Lukas ball sets.

But, JL is certainly not top quality. To me they have sort of a greasy feel and don't do as well in humidity. Now that Fakini is no longer shipping, there are few options out there for a good manipulation ball, especially for larger sizes. I ended up going with a Florian Zimmer set of balls. They are a bit pricey but have fantastic reviews and many have said they are better than Fakini. Plus, come in 2 inches and 2.25 will be coming in a few weeks.

I have the regular JL set of balls, and they are not greasy, and work and cling very well. JL also makes the Lukas, which are different, and made to Lukas's requirements. These are different balls in the manufacture. I don't have the Lukas balls, so I don't know anything about their make up or feel.
WayneCapps, you did not mention any of your other requirements, only that you wanted a larger ball size. So, I suggested and linked you to a larger ball size. Hope the Zimmer balls are what you require, and get a lot of use out of them. It would be nice for a detailed review of these totally new balls made of a new material after you handle them a bit. It is a good time to by, as the Euro is at a historic low exchange rate currently. |

I just want a good feeling ball and to me, JL is just not that ball. I have played with them and they just don't seem like the quality that I want. I know some people like them but I am just not a fan. For years I used a wooden set but have tried Fakini and I like those. They are A LOT easier than wood but heavy. The only downfall to a Fakini ball to me is the weight, which I am OK with but would like a large, lighter ball. I am excited about the weight of the Zimmer ball. I will post a full review when I get them.
