For everyone who has purchased this, I have added a little subtlety which was suggested to me by another buyer. The peek is already quick and smooth, but this extra subtlety makes the motion very controlled and even smoother. The video has been added to the others, and you'll receive an email with the update.

Will this work with tri-fold wallets where the driver's license window is on the middle panel instead of the end? That's how my wallet is.
BTW, are you still selling this for $10? I'm seeing a different price on your website. Thanks, Ross |

Hi rhiro, yes, it will work with the window in the middle. The motion of getting the peek is a little different, but I'll send you a video describing how to do it with the window in that position - the concept is adaptable.
And I have raised the price since making this thread. Wallets usually go in the range of 50 - $150, and most of them have problems. So I figured $20 would be a better price, considering the power a peek wallet gives you. Can't change the name of the thread, though. And my apologies for the site looking a little bare, I've been in the process of re-building it this week. So it's a little empty at the moment, but everything works as it should. Tom Phoenix |

I'm not sure. I've never seen the Real Man's Wallet.
The wallet device was designed for a regular, everyday, not-magic-specific, wallet. This way, you can always have a peek device on your person, without needing to buy a 100 dollar wallet specifically for magicians. There are only 2 stipulations for the method to work: - The wallet needs to open/close - And it needs to have one of those transparent windows (usually used for driver's licenses). ***I do have a way of doing it with a wallet that has a window, but does not open/close (or if the window is on the outside of the wallet), but the motion for getting the peek is different. So if the Real Man's Wallet fits those stipulations, then yes, it will work. |

You're very welcome! The person who suggested it to me was really thinking. 1/16th of an inch - that's all it took to make the peek better.

I recently purchased this, had some issues making it work for my specific wallet, and Tom not only answered my questions via PMs, he shot a special video for me to make things clear. Wow! What great customer service! Thanks, Tom!

You're very welcome - glad we got it working for you!
With regards to the customer service, there have been a couple items I've purchased which either didn't work reliably or wasn't as advertised. The customer service was more along the lines of: "Oh, it doesn't work for you? That's too bad." So I make a point of taking time to help people find alternate/flexible methods. Tom |

I can only say good things about Tom's wonderful thinking and work. I'm amazed at his cleverness and the mounds of wonderful effects on his website. His happy-go-lucky generosity and teaching style are also things to be greatly admired.
I highly recommend his work, his magical ingenuity is refreshing, delightful and seemingly unending...Lucky for us. Keep up the great work, Tom. I am definitely a fan.

I try to give away 3 - 4 times as much stuff as I sell, as I'm constantly creating/working on projects, so it wouldn't be plausible to try selling everything. I suppose that accounts for the happy-go-lucky generosity And I'm glad you enjoy the stuff I come up with - it is always a good feeling to know that others are getting mileage and delight out of my mildly unhealthy obsession; and from, I've been told, my occasional quirky/goofy teaching. I've updated the construction of this peek device, and am in the process of sending the update to everyone who has already purchased it.
Before, the act of removing my license (and putting it back in) was a little fumble-y. Now, that problem no longer exists - the gimmick does not get in the way of anything. AND, the construction time is several minutes shorter. The peek still looks and works the same, it is only the construction which has been simplified. - You put the folded billet into your wallet - Close it and set it down - You've got the peek http://wanderingmagic.com/products/the-wallet-of-elrond Tom Phoenix |

Alright, I'm pretty sure I got the update out to everyone who has purchased it in the past. If there anyone seeing this who does own the method, but didn't get the email, shoot me a PM and I'll get it taken care of.

Can anyone who owns Menny Lindenfeld's 'Blind Man's Wallet' comment on whether or not this differs?

Here's a list of several differences: - With mine, the billet goes into the transparent pocket, so it's still in view, though obviously not accessible - The method allows you to build it into your regular, everyday wallet, rather than needing to buy a whole new wallet - The peek is obtained as soon as you close the wallet - you don't need to open it a second time to get the peek. Put it in, close the wallet, and you're done. - The method is flexible, so if you don't like your current wallet, you can apply the same method to a new one - The method does not add any significant thickness to your wallet - It won't break. And on the off-chance that it does, it'll cost less than a dollar to make a new one. - And if your wallet wears out, you can remove the device and put it into a new wallet. Also, I've seen quite a few complaints about the quality of the Blind Man's Wallet, what with the plastic cracking, not being big enough to hold $$ or cards, stitching coming undone, etc. With the Wallet of Elrond, you don't have to worry about that, since regular wallets are made to last and withstand abuse... and my method was designed for regular wallets.
