Speaking of dealers, the new www.stevensmagic.global site has over 12,000 items on it. I have had good experiences with this particular dealer in the past (Stevens Magic). Always had good fast dependable service as well from Barry Mitchell, Laflin Magic Store, Penguin Magic, Robert Baxt, FAB Magic and many others.
That being said: "Bad" dealer experiences would be (which I have experienced far too many times) with other some other "dealers" include: Ordering items from a nice looking website only to find out the items purchased were not in stock (happened many times); Ordering items from a website only to find out the item selected will NEVER be in stock (which happened to me last year- and that web site still advertises the item for sale!); Ordering a book (or video) where the main must have gimic described in the book is no longer made anywhere in the world (also happened to me last year, no refund even allowed, and this book is still for sale); The dealer taking your money/charging your account immediately, then months later trying to substitute your order out for other items you don't want (and a refund never being offered)- also happened to me last year; Or taking months to fulfill an order (and no indication on the website or initial order that it would take that long to actually ship out the purchased product). I remember years ago that some items would be grossly overpriced and/or misrepresented as to what you received (that happens less now as you can check on tricks reviewed on The Magic Café for complaints/and search on youtube to see if someone is posted there doing the effect without screwy camera angles). Some folks (not me) have had the misfortune of placing an email order, only to find out later the place closed down or was about to close down yet the magic product website was still up. Ouch. So the older I get, the more careful I am in selecting online dealers, particularly in this era where billions of dollars in credit card fraud/hacking takes place every year which far too many of us have also experienced. This has nothing to do with the post above, just my comments on buying stuff online in general. |

No one is talking about dealers MagicBus. So what does all that have to do with appearing wands? Just curious.

A better question would be, what does an appearing wands sale have to do with the FCM? The member who posted this has only 2 posts to his/her credit. So, this a promo for a product.

Not my place to question why they are advertising on FCM, other than the appearing wands can be customized. Maybe put a Gospel message on them. Besides, 2 wrongs don't make a right does it?

I'm not saying 2 wrongs make a right. And you are correct - one could put a message that relates to their theme or topic. So let's turn this discussion around and add some ideas for how that message on one of these give-away wands could enhance a routine... Anyone have any thoughts or creative ideas rather than just your name and contact info (or maybe in addition to your name and contact info)?

Yikes I better respond here as my post above is now being elevated to doing "wrong" status now it seems. By all means, anyone can feel free to ask that any of my posts be removed for violating Café' etiquette, I'm fine with that.
My meandering mind post OT (off topic)? Maybe, as when my spouse is talking to me very specially about about her day, and I respond "Isn't it great the Cubs started Spring Training today!" I plead guilty as charged. This is a character flaw on my part for sure, I need no doubt to post more concise and try to stay OT better. As no one appointed me the Magic Café hall monitor, I have reported maybe two posts in the last 7 years that were clearly meant to be personal, insensitive or even mocking attacks on one's Christian beliefs. But that's it, I personally don't care if folks in general are OT or not. I am just happy anyone posts here at all. That being said, when I read the first post above, the thought immediately occurred to me the poster perhaps unknowingly violated one of the well spelled out "rules" of this forum- that original dealers selling their products directing readers to their own ad sites are advertisers- not simple posters who may be commenting about other experiences with other dealers or giving product reviews (which is fine). So when I saw this original post, I thought I would respond in a very general way about my own true experiences with a few poor other magic "dealers", including one really bad hassle that I got from another Magic Café dealer link I used before. What a nightmare, it took me six months and constant followup to get any satisfaction. So in my ADD brain, I was vaguely OT when I responded. If not, I again apologize- and anyone can ask my OT "wrong" posts be removed from this topic series or anywhere else inappropriate on The Magic Café', all OK by me if I offended or wronged anyone. I must emphasize once again I have zero knowledge about the first poster above (other than he posted here improperly). I have no idea who the one posted above is and did not look at his web site or try to figure out how in any way what "appearing wands" has to do with the FCM informational heading. He may be selling a very fine product at a terrific bargain price, I have no idea. And no, even though I do own my own set of plastic nested appearing wands from years ago (and it may be based on a totally different operating principle than the ones being hawked above), I have never thought of a decent Gospel application for them and have used them only in a kids party setting a few times. |

I think my original comment was taken as a rebuke, but was not intended to be. My apologies for the misunderstanding. I was just curious as to why Magic bus responded as he did. The rule about advertising has been broken on a regular bases that I don't think it's inforced anymore.
Some idea's for customizing the wands can be pretty much any biblical message. Here are two. Do everything in love. For nothing is impossible with God.

All good by me, I appreciate the interaction here, hope many more can chime in. Another total OT, I wish the "Koch Sticks" advertised on page 105 of the March 2017 "Genii" magazine were priced less than $495. I do have several Gospel routines for chinese sticks (I have a Kovari set), so I may attempt to share some of them in the future here... Will start a new topic for that though.
