Excalibur, the mythical sword in the stone, bewitched by one of our more famous cousins! was it legend, was it physical or was it simply a metaphor for something else.

Seamus demonstrated this to me the other day; there are some interesting ideas going on with this, and the reveal at the end is bang on. It's worth a few minutes of your time if you're interested in propless ideas and developments.

Excalibur is a fantastic propless piece of mentalism, Seamus Maguire was able to determine whether I was a liar or true teller and proceeded to reveal my thought of name, spot on with no fishing

Haha was just Excalibured and it's really really very good... no scrap that... it's !@#$*** brilliant.
Was correct with both whether I was lying or telling the truth and the name. I love it, and if it plays that well over messenger then out in the real world it's gonna be amazing. It looks like I may be shoving a bit too much praise towards this, but I genuinely enjoyed it and think that what Seamus has created is fantastic. I'm aware of and know many of the name divinations out there, and after having experienced this, this is right at the top for me personally. Cheers for that mate, was fun and you've got a great thing there. |

I've had this done to me twice now. The first time Seamus was able to tell me that I was lying and was extremely close to my name (He said Barry, I was thinking of Harry). The second time he again told me my role and correctly guessed I was thinking of the name John.
The process (if you can call it that) was similar but different enough that it didn't feel like a script was being followed for each round which I think is a nice touch. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes and will more than likely pick it up if it's released. |

Just had this performed on me (Thank you, Seamus) and I have to say it's really really good. I can see it playing very well with the audience with the main presentation that Seamus mentioned and it is very clean and easy to follow. I have other name divinations and this doesn't seem convoluted and confusing to the participant as some others and feels very organic. I think you should all check this out.
Thanks, Rex |

I've just been Excalibured!
It was good fun and a great effect. He asked me to decide whether or not to be a liar or a truth teller and to think of either a name or a star sign... obviously I picked a name. At the end of a simple process Seamus was able to deduce that I was a liar and the name that I thought of. To be totally honest I found it a little difficult to keep track of my role while answering. But I think that was mostly due to doing it over instant messenger without any particular presentation. I can certainly think of ways to make that process much clearer to whoever is answering the questions. Seamus shared how he normally performs this when live in person and that would give great opportunity to make it crystal clear. Plus his presentation sounds like good fun. I really wish I had seen this in person rather than over IM as I think it would have been a lot more amazing and a lot of fun! Cheers Seamus! Sam |

Fun, still in development but great thinking. We had a long back and forth on this and a few other ideas. Good times.

I had this performed on me this yesterday and I am sincerely blown away.
I have no idea how he had enough information to know if I was lying/telling the truth or to reveal the name. I imagine this goes over VERY well in person. I honestly think this would be a very useful item for revealing a thought of name over telephone while trying to book a venue. Tell them you can try something over the phone. Do this and reveal their name and then ask for a meeting in person with the person you had a chat with. I'm sure they will be very excited to meet you and learn more after having this done on them. Great work Seamus. I'm clueless as to the workings. You're a very clever dude. Madison |

I've just been Excalibured! Again! The very bold claim this morning was: think of any object.
I know the origins and workings of this but still, the first time. No idea. Fried! Then being Excalibured with any object - brilliant, just brilliant.

Hey everyone, I'm having a lot of fun performing excalibur, thanks to everyone that got in touch (over 40 of you!!!)
If anyone else still wants to see what all the fuss is about drop me a message. Of the 40 performances for fellow mentalists there were 4 that I was not happy with....however, those issues have been dialled back into the system and have been addressed. So it is even stronger over social media than ever before. I have of late been scripting it in such a way so as to give the spectator a mental choice between a name OR a starsign. I am not told which. They also choose to lie or tell the truth. Again, they don't say which role they choose. This can be used for just names, just starsigns or both or pretty much anything else. In addition, you know the role (truth or liar) way before they know you know. I'm sure you realise how useful that can be. So if you want to be 'Excalibured', drop me a message. All I ask is that you post back here the name or starsign I revealed...no details about the performance of course, just what was on your mind Also, thanks to everyone so far for that have contacted me and given the time to share the experience Take it handy, Séa

I recently got in contact with Seamus after realising he's a fellow Irishman. He asked me if I had seen his new effect 'Excalibur' on the Café. After reading some of the posts about his effect I asked him to try it on me, not really knowing what to expect.
I was asked to think of a name and also to decide if I wanted to be a truth teller or a liar. I was then given the opportunity to change my mind and was told I could choose to think of a star sign instead on a name (I stuck with the name and decided to tell the truth). After a very short series of simple and fair questions (to which I only answered yes or no) Seamus was able to tell me that I was a truth teller and revealed the name I was thinking of. All of this was done propless and on the spot via FB messenger. I was very impressed but the thought of what this could look like in person is even more impressive. This effect really has some great potential, fair play lad! Kieran. |

Today Seamus took the time to walk me through his routine on WhatsApp (sorry to have disturbed your lunch, Seamus!). He was very kind with his offer to perform his routine for me. Thanks again, Seamus!
The routine works exactly just as described above. The name revealed was Michael. My PERSONAL judgement: Is it good? Yes, I like it. Is it for me? I have to say no here because of personal circumstances. Olaf |

Met the Irishman on facebook and picked kind of a difficult name; not to be difficult, but because it's my best friends name.
Sea nailed both the role (truth teller) and got within one letter of the name. Begged him to release this, hopefully without coming across as too desperate. =) Exacalibur checks all my boxes in that it's both versatile and theatrical. Congrats on this routine. Super cool. |

I got excalibured too.
He guessed my name and my role very quickly. I think this only has an application in text messages - I don't think this would be useful in live performances. Fun to play around with though |

To anyone familiar with both, how does this compare with Atlas' Train Tracking?

Thanks for all the great comments so far.
It does play well live, I know because I've done it loads of times. However, it might not suit your style of performance. I have train tracking too but I won't compare, Ill leave that to the folk that have experienced both as an effect, Best, Séa
