So, THAT is awesome.

But the pictures are obviously after the site has been developed. I've not searched this any further because I'm about to go to bed, but any news regarding historical proofs or finds since the site has been discovered? I'm just guessing that since there's architectural-like lighting in place, the archeological heavy lifting must have already been done?

What I'm getting at is, is this real? And if so, can I go there?

And if not real, can I go there?

It says the candles were put there to show the magnificent arch carvings and that it's bone dry inside. Seems like it's untouched, but hard to prove without further investigation. . .

Hmmm. Those look like lights to me, but I guess they could be candles. Very cool though!

It's not that far from me. Might get to see it one day. Will share some pictures if I do.

without seeing them, my guess would be that they are a late 18th/early 19th century folly-- but what fun!

It's not far away from where my brother lives... Maybe one day I'll get the opportunity to explore them!

This is some cool info to cook up a backstory for the Knights Templar coin.

Caught an interview with a Templar historian a few nights ago and he confirmed it has no connection to the Templars but still it looks very cool.

They look like battery operated touch switch lights like one might get put in a closet to create light without the expense of running real wiring. They are cheap and come in multi packs here in America and I imagine they are likewise available in the UK.
