Looking for some suggestions on ESP packet effects. I would prefer them to use the Rhine cards. They also for my use need to be able to hold up in bars and such places. I am looking to have be very interactive where the spectator becomes the star and does the reading. The goal is to use a few of these effects with a couple card routines around a table with varying methods making each think they have an ability they do not but can not answer how the table did it to each other. I have a few card effects already and think a couple packet effects would round out a larger table so I have enough material for a bigger group or even to change things up as well.

My own "Bob's Your Uncle" (from my Mindsights book) is just such an effect. No gaffs, no extra cards, and the participant is the star.
This is the routine of which the late Bob Cassidy wrote, "'Bob's Your Uncle' is one of the best routines of its kind ever created. Very highly recommended!"

Check out Michael Murray's Beyond ESP 3 booklet and cards. Best ESP MD cards I've used. He has also has a great ESP routine in his book 'A Piece of My Mind' called Tattle Tailed.

I agree with Terrillific: Michael Murray's ESP Cards are in my opinion unbeatable. Personally I use a o**e a**ad, symbol-matching routine by Alain Nu (sorry, I don't remember its name, but you can find it on YouTube)
And, as suggested by Ben Blau, have a look at "Unfazed", a very clever routine you can perform with unmarked cards. |

Genii magazine says of these decks, "The quality and design FAR EXCEED any ESP cards on the market." See why:

Sure - this is what the case and the backs look like. The fronts are standard, black on white ESP designs.
Best wishes, T. Click here to view attached image. |

And if anyone is interested in what a pile of freshly-printed, not-yet-cut cards look like at the printing house, this is an example from when we had the MK-MOD test cards first made back in 2010 (or thereabouts).

To be honest, most ESP symbol packs are perfectly fine (even though I had my own made). Ironically, the most illogical looking set is the original Rhine packs. Yet, they were perfectly functional. It is what we do with them that matters. I own most of the sets produced and most have features that I like. The reason I made my own is that the needs were driven by routines that I had created. I am still crafting things when a routine requires it. Neil's and Ted's both look very, very nice (sadly those are two they I do not have, but I will rectify that soon enough). I would like to hear more discussion about new routines and ideas personally.

I have most of the decks, and love them all. But with light conditions and aging eyes, I usually rely on the Vernet, Royal, or my own marking, (these are very hard to miss). I cannot always make out a corner or even Neils wonderful marking. Although most of what I do with the cards does not require marking, it is nice to have it there as a backup.
As far as packet effects, Alain Nu has some wonderful ESP material using 10 cards (2 sets) on his new Penguin release. |
