If you have the time and patience I'd love for you to take a look at my revised handling of a Copper Silver Brass routine I recently posted.

I considered a lot of peoples' useful advice and reconfigured some things. No arms crossing and a much more interesting ending.

Thanks,
Rick

That copper coin.. Smile From a layperson's perspective I think this is perfectly smooth already.

Ooh, I like this version a lot. The purse changes were a lot smoother and justified, in my mind, and I liked the magician goofing up the powers.
The vanishes for the third phase were fantastic. I have no idea how you did those, unless that was some stellar angles with Kaps Subtlety.
I also appreciated the music pairing, which wasn't too loud.

Thoughts:
Both the first and second strange things started the same way - waving the silver coin over the others. Why would you expect something different to happen?
Each time you "goof" in the coin disappearing, I notice you hold the 2-coin hand and a very blocked angle for a while. Try to do the change than then return it to a "normal" position as quickly as you can. For me (even trying not to think like a magician) I go "oh, it's the wrong coin! What's in his hand?" and then I looked back, only to find it impossible to see the coins. Just a thought.

It's really cool to see the transformation from the one before to here!

Much to like here Smile

more open and reason for things to be happening. The final Utility Switch is great, though personally, I would scratch my nose or adjust glasses with the right hand in the process.

I have always likes the "not in complete control of magic" approach, but would never apologize. Maybe try blaming the Chinese coin.

With modern understanding that getting things from China may have unpredictable results, maybe start with just a copper-silver effect that comes off fine.
Then add the Chinese coin and weird things happen. That way there is no 'goof' -- just the idea than Chinese Magic works differently.
In the end, though -- all the kids are friends.

Thanks a lot guys!

I really appreciate you taking the time to watch the evolution of this.

That's my goal by putting stuff up for people to see. By listening to your comments and advice, it's helped me to make a routine that was just ok and make it into something much more magical.

Thanks again

Rick

Except for the final vanishes, which were terrific, I was kind of confused as to what was supposed to be going on. When I saw it again, I understood more. I know it's a video, and you are probably more clear with real people. By that I mean-- you could make a bigger deal out of the wrong coin being in the purse. Really act surprised. Acting! I don't mean acting to the extent of being campy, but you could play it up some.

Still, this is your routine, not mine. What works for you is what's best.

No. Don't worry.

I find that I'm especially stiff while filming myself. I'm thinking about the moves, the script, and if I'm projecting my voice enough. It all comes out a little too bland some times.
