Do I have to bend down to the ground or can I use this on a table? I'm curious how he does this in daylight and while I know a street show is gonna be on the ground, I didn't know if this is part of the method from specs point of view that might not be as good indoors on a table in bright light.

If you have to question this one answer comes to mind this is SansMinds with Photo editing Software, paid actors all to make the demo look good,

Enough said

Those who already tried it know that a street cement floor is awesomely good at hiding IT. Because people look down in the proposed effects, reflection is null in most situations and should hide the method very well.
For once, I would feel tempted by a SansMinds product, this looks well thought out.
I feel that the effects on the demo add an interesting and innovative note on IT effects, I would like very much to see a review and know more about the practicality of the hook-up.

Exactly.

Cement/tarmac floors are ideal for a daylight thread performance where the spectator is made to look down where the action is. This is not new thinking (IMO) but a very old method of thread camouflage which could be seen in the good bygone days where a little lightweight doll was made to dance on the street. Give it a try and see it for yourself.

Can this be done whilst your standing up and the object is moving on the floor?

Sure it can be done standing using an IT in the form of a large loop. However the good old dancing doll was performed on the street using an IT anchored to the floor. When performing standing (using an IT with an anchor), there is one requirement - for good camouflage, your active hand must be below waist level (i.e. at just below pocket level) so that the it is close to the floor. Also it would be better if the hand is hiding behind the leg.

And with the advent of the Loop (both IET and IT), one can do wonders using this age old camouflage technique.

My half a cent. Smile

. . . . And here are a few links to a modern hands free mechanical method of achieving the same good old dancing doll effect. It can also be done by the anchor method. The other end of the IT is tied to one of your fingers. Notice that the grey backgrounds (the floor and the back) has been deliberately selected so as to camouflage the IT in daylight.

Like all members of the Café I guess, I got a PM from SansMinds with a 50% off coupon applying to all digital downloads but IT DOES NOT WORK!
I would not even wait for a review before getting it then.

The thing is : the whole trailer is shown to be performed at street and on ground level.

How good is for close up situation and on table height?

If you work on a table in a restaurant, there is a good chance that there is a spotlight right on top of the table.
This means that light rays are being refracted with a wide variety of angles around their natural reflection angle (the angle between a vertical imaginary line and the line formed by the spot and the thread).
This is a terrible situation when spectators are close from the table but the situation greatly improves as people move away from the table. I would think that it should be fine if the specs are a few meters away but this does not seem very realistic for a restaurant work.
You could work it out though if you make sure that the spot light is right in front of your performing area, between the spectator and yourself (or even better, in front of you and behind the spectator).
Once you understand that it's just basic physics, you never get caught anymore by reflections.

I watched the DVD today. Nothing New. A Reel and no other Special Hoop ups. If you stand 10 Meters away from the Audience I think almost every IT is totaly invisble. Boring.

Though the effects shown in the Untouched demo vid are really good, but with a little more insight, instead of using a simple reel, the creator could have thought of using the Surya's Device thus achieving some great results and effects.

Just MY thoughts! Smile

P.S. Just for info, the Surya's Device is basically a controlled variable thread loop - A new concept in thread reel.
