It is exclusive with Vanishing Inc at the moment.
There's a variety of ideas on the video - the most basic being a mixed cube being solved inside the bag (advantages here to other methods are that the cube itself is not gimmicked, can be mixed by a spectator, and shown mixed in the bag before the solve, without ever having to touch the cube again). Also taught are a couple of matching routines with a spectator mixed cube using a bag or using another pretty cool alternative prop, a wonderful updated version of Rubik's Nightmare, Vincent Kuo's fantastic block solve, probably the best choreography for a toss up solve, imo, and more. Not to mention, I and others have already been thinking up other uses for it as well. The simplest is a spectator mixed cube switched for a prepared one in a very clean way under the guise of a common gag. I have a few other ideas I've played with as well that I'm not yet ready to share with anyone. Overall, I think this is a fantastic release - I only wish there was a way to buy a second shell at a discount, as I would like to have one in a solved state and one in a mixed state. |

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all your feedbacks and those who supported Rubiks Dream! Let me explain my thinking behind Rubiks Dream. It is a ultility device just like an Expanded S for coins. That means you can do ANYTHING with it. My goal is to provide a valuable tool in the market to expand the world of Rubiks Cube magic. Compare to cards and coins, magic with Rubiks cube doesn't have a long history. that's why I believe Rubiks Dream can be an item that can helpes everyone to expand the possibilities with it, and make it better and better. You may already have your own ideas with it. I know masters like Garett Thomas, Karl Hein, Takamiz Usui, Steven Brundage and some big names in Rubiks cube magic, they all already have their own ideas with it already. I heard Usui had a very successful and beautiful performance in 4F. Vincent Kuo, a good friend of mine, started to explore what mini s can do when its in solved status. Everyone is having new ideas with it and that's exactly my wish to give contribution to the world of cube magic. In the tutorial I provided almost everything I can think of using the s. Even my evolved fism version of my old creation Rubiks Nightmare. Just a mini cube + a large cube, and you can perform the cleanest matching cubes + solving, perfect for extreme close up. Vincent Kuo also being so kind and shared one of his top secret... The Block Solve. It is VERY beautiful. I also provided my favourite the Recurring Nightmare Solve, which is a toss solve Steven Brundage using now. There are some ideas I can think of AFTER finished filming the tutorial. So you can see how much possibilities it is providing. One of my FAVORITE way to use it now: imagine at the beginning of your cube routine, you hand out a cube for several spectator to mix it. You then clearly put it inside a paperbag and have a spectator to keep it, and you NEVER touch it again. Now you do any of your rubiks cube routine. My routinr usually involves a matching cubes effect, and ends with both cubes solved. Just when they are applausing, you stopped them and tell them: "but there is one cube that you all have mixed, and I have NEVER touched it the entire time!" You then clearly take out the cube, its solved! Crumble up the paperbag. Get your biggest applause. Think about it, no matter how visually we can do with solving a Rubiks Cube, there still needs a big ending that hits the audience in the heart, not just the eyes. In this case, a cube that you NEVER touched, mixed by the audience, solved itself! Its a miracle. Another of my new idea is like the "Do as I Do" in cube magic. Two cubes, two paperbags. You and your spectator both mixed up a cube. Both cubes are clearly places back into each bags. You shake a bag, you take out the cube, solved. (Bag is tear apart to show empty). Now you instruct your spectator to do the same. HE shake the other bag... he take out the cube HIMSELF... and its SOLVED! (Bag is tear apart to show its empty) Now that cube the spectator can keep as souvenir and everyone gives big applause to him. Sorry to be too excited. I hope these long passage can helps everyone understand more about Rubiks Dream and the thinking behind it. I will try my best to answer any questions you are having Quote:

Thanks Henry, just to clarify, I do own and love Rubik's Dream so when you say additional shells will hopefully become available to owners are you referring to ONLY the standard size or will additional mini shells possibly be available to owners too?

Because personally, I always give away the cubes at the end so that they will not think its a "trick cube". Also it will definitely be something that they would love to tell people about it "that magician solved this cube in one second!" |

Thank you Henry for chiming in and sharing more ideas with Rubik's Dream. I really enjoy your teaching video even though it was exhausting for you as you mentioned.
Would love extra shells and extra non gimmicked speed cubes. How will you be able to tell that we are eligible for these extras? |

Just received my copy. A pre-release model. Quality is top-notch - there is some really good value for this relatively inexpensive gimmick. I will look into it in more detail and will give my own review soon!

I had a little issue with my previous post so I repost it now. Here is my full review of Rubik’s Dream by Henry Harrius. It turns out to be quite long and I should have repeated some points already made in points above so apologies in advance!
WHAT'S IN THE BOX: * A velvet bag * 2 ordinary Rubik’s cube - they are very smooth speed cubes and are suitable for all kinds of Rubik’s sleight * 1 big sh***(“S”) * 1 small sh*** ("S") * 1 mini ordinary cube * Extra stickers (there are enough stickers to apply on two mini cubes and two ordinary cubes) * A card with a link to a 46-minute explanation video and password. QUALITY OF THE PROPS: Build quality of both gimmicks (the big and small S) is top notch. At first glance without the stickers, I thought the gimmicks look a bit too shiny, and on one side there are some tiny dots on it, but upon applying the stickers they look ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Even close up the S looks exactly like what it should be. Size-wise, of course the S are inevitably larger than the regular cubes, but only very slightly. When a S and a regular cube are three/four inches apart, the difference in size is minimal and will be unnoticeable. Although the walls of the S are thin, they seem pretty sturdy. The spray paint seems to be pretty scratch resistant too but I haven’t really tested that out vigorously. That said, I would still store the gimmicks in the box in my performance case. The gimmicks fit on both the ordinary and mini cubes perfectly. They are both vacuum fit, and when you put it on the regular cubes they slide in and out smoothly and steadily. Just toying with the gimmick gives you some wonderful feeling of happiness and satisfaction. Basically, everything looks the same as what is in the trailer. It is a very honest trailer and if you like what you see in it, you know what you are getting and you won't be disappointed. Let's just hope all magic trailers can be as honest as this! PREPARATION NEEDED: The big S and small S don’t have stickers on them upon unboxing, and you will need to do a bit of art and craft yourself with the sticker provided. There are two ways you can apply the stickers to the S - either in the solved state, or mixed state (can be any of your favourite stack). Obviously, you can only choose either one unless you buy two sets and have two gimmicks each for the same size. In the explanation video Henry does not discuss this in the outset and goes directly to the tricks, and some use a S that looked solved, while others use S that looks mixed. I suggest you watch the entire video first, learn what can be done with each option (and think of routines not already on the video - there are just so many possibilities as Henry has mentioned in posts above), think what presentation suits you the most, before you apply the stickers. Once the stickers are applied, you will not want to change that often, although it is perfectly fine to do so. If you can't decide now, you can wait until you can purchase the extra S separately. It doesn't seem you can do this in the near future, but according to Henry, he is working with Vanishing Inc to make this happen. Or, if you have a bit of extra cash, you may consider getting two sets, which is still cheaper than Rubicon. I don’t intended to cause any debate on which version is better, but you can make up your own mind on how to allocate your money. Both Henry's Rubik's Dream and Greg's Rubicon will enable you to do miracles. WHAT IS IN THE EXPLANATION VIDEO: Introduction sections: Trailer, Intro, What You Receive. Impossible Paper Bag Solve: This is perhaps the easiest application of the gimmick, solving the cube inside a paper bag without touching. Good thing is the cube can be freely mixed by spectator, and there is literally no skill is required, but the downside is that the solved cube is not examinable, so I would say it’s preferably done for parlour situations. Sucker Paper Bag Solve: This is another version which no skill is required. Again it uses the paper bag, but it has the vanishing-bottle-like type of gag added to the presentation. At the end you show two solved cubes, only one of which is examinable. Matching (Version 1): For this routine you need the big S in the mixed state. You need to know a stack in order to be able to actually do the matching. Henry uses Takamiz Usui’s stack, which he teaches you how to get there in a later part of the video. Apart from learning how to get to the stack from a solved cube, there is no other sleight or memory work required. Matching (Version 2): If you opt to have your S in solved state then version 2 is for you. There is an extra step involved but the routining provides a logical motivation to do the extra secret move. Good thing is, you end clean with two completely ordinary cubes! Competition Cover: Another matching routine with the S in mixed state. Recurring Nightmare (Handling 1): This trick alone is worth the price of the purchase. This is an updated, gimmicked version of Rubik’s Nightmare and is actually extracted from Henry’s FISM winning act. This improves on the Rubik’s Nightmare by making it slightly cleaner in execution and in the ending, allowing you to be more open with your props. After the first phase (matching big and small cubes), you can immediately go on and magically solve the cube, by the… Recurring Nightmare Solve: This is based on Takamiz Usui’s stack but the solving action is modified, done with both hands. Look at the trailer and you’ll see how clean and minimal it looks. Henry’s teaching is a bit rushed here and you may need to rewind a few times, or take some notes as you go along if you are new to rubik’s cube magic, but there shouldn’t be any problem overall. Recurring Nightmare (Handling 2): an alternative handling in which you don’t need to pa*m the small S openly. There is slightly more fumbling of the cubes, as in you need to exchange the big and small cubes from hand to hand so there is less economy in action. But it still looks nice enough, so if you are not comfortable with pa*ming the small S (which should not be a big problem really), this is still a very nice and practical version. False Shuffle: apparently mixing the cube randomly but you actually retain your stack. Mini Cube to Anything: More of an eye candy than a practical trick to me. You should be able to know what’s happening from the trailer. Bonus: Block Solve by Vincent Kuo: This is a BONUS routine not related to the gimmicks you get and entirely uses sleight of hand. Apparently you are just SLOWLY showing all sides of a mixed cube (as opposed to waving it) and in the process the mixed cube somehow solved! It does require practice but it’s not the most difficult sleight out there. Ending Credit - A bunch of thank you-s and Henry encourages you to think of more routines with the S. Perhaps a cube across or cube through table? VERDICT: 1. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Although it’s not the cheapest magic trick on the market, but you are getting a lot of value for your money. The props are of extremely high, durable quality and the possibility of its application is endless. 2. The routines explained in the DVD are, in my opinion, a little bit basic. But to me it’s not a problem at all. I consider the gimmicks a utility item that has way more application. To maximise its potential, you WILL want to also use some other skills developed by other Rubik’s cube masters (in particular one handed solve - used with paper bags). Henry has already outlined some routines in a couple of posts above. Cheers, NKW

Back to Rubik's Dream, I tried it on a couple of laymen at my work space today, using the recurring nightmare routine. As expected the reaction was excellent. I also showed the sh*** to my fiance, who has a pair of critical eyes after years of training, and she had no clue that it was a gimmick. So, you should be able to perform with full confidence, even for real close up. I have an upcoming show for kids and I plan to combine a few of the routines to do a little rubik's act. I am especially looking forward to the sucker presentation, I think we'll all have a good time. I'll report again when the show is done! NKW
