Hi Guys
I have been working on a couple of card tricks to show my grandchildren when I see them next month. The problem is I know they will want to see it again once I have shown them. I know it is a golden rule not to do the same trick twice for the same audience but what do I say to them? Many thanks Andy |

You should always have more than one trick ready to go. That way, when they ask you to show a trick again, you can always say "Wait! Here's one even better!" And then there's always the old "I think I hear your mother calling you" line.

Chicago Opener? You do the first part, they ask you to do it again and you go on into the second part!

Start by telling them you'll show them just one trick. Then when they beg to see it again, do as others have suggested and say, "well, I guess I could show you one more trick." Then follow that up with a third when they ask. After that, chuckle and say, "I think that's enough magic tricks for now," and distract them with something else. "Look what Grandma is doing in the kitchen," or whatever

For adults(?) - I had a co-worker keep asking me to 'do a trick' - one time I told him I could do a 'coin trick' if I could find a large coin - he gave me a .50 cen peace- I did a couple effects- then put the coin in my POCKET- he asked for his coin- I said "sorry - I don't always do tricks for free"- or 'this is my living - I don't aways do tricks for free' - he didn't get sore - but didn't keep asking me 'to do a trick' Ralph

Did you like that trick?
How would you like to learn how to do trick to fool all of your friends? I'll do it first then show you how to to do it. (Finish off with the sucker torn & restored napkin) |
