CHRIS WALLACE: “You would agree that even if all 195 nations, now 194, met their targets, it still wouldn’t solve the problem.”
AL GORE: “That is correct. However, it sends a very powerful signal to business and industry and civil society, and countries around the world.” In other words, the agreement was mainly symbolic. |

Hmmmmm
http://blog.dilbert.com/post/16135404818......e-change "Did you notice the stock market rising sharply after President Trump announced he would pull out of the Paris Climate Accord and – according to CNN – destroy the entire planet? Markets are irrational, but still, it’s hard to reconcile a decision to destroy civilization with a rise in investor confidence. What should I make of the fact so many citizens say global warming is an existential danger while the people who have money are (apparently) betting against it? How does that make sense? One way it makes sense is that markets move for lots of different reasons. But in my experience, a sharp move in the markets timed to a political action is like an instant vote of thumbs-up or thumbs-down on the decision. Apparently, leaving the Paris Accord was a thumbs-up for investors. And so I give you this hypothesis: There is social pressure to say you side with the majority of climate scientists. To do otherwise would make many people feel like ignoramuses. So they craft their personalities around a belief in climate change doom because they are people who respect science. It fits their identity preference. Until you ask them to invest their money. Then people bet against it." |

Markets excel at short-term profit making decisions. They suck at long-term profit making decisions, and both short and long range non-profit making decisions. Really basic.

You should have read the entire article.
"Another hypothesis is that markets are short-sighted. But how much short-term benefit does the entire economy get from leaving the Paris Accords? I haven’t seen the argument for it helping directly in the next quarter or two, except in terms of optimism for the long-term." |

Suck at long term profit making decisions? What PROOF do you have for that other than an ideology? Actually they are pretty good at the long term stuff.
But much like the military being the biggest polluter BY FAR it is an ideology and nothing more from you.

OF COURSE we get to race! Naturally it is a racist issue! Can't lose with that can you?
Get a new playbook please. Why is it ALWAYS with you that the other opinion is "Poorly Educated"?

Very mature, like a teenage bully. The ridiculous policies of your gang cannot hold Danny. We've been following to them for a while and the world is in chaos; well except, perhaps, in your tiny insulated part of it. Sooner or later the bill comes due, but your gang doesn't care since it's our children and their children that will have to pay for it. No empathy, no consideration of others; just I gots mines and I'll yell louder and berate anyone who dares to threaten it. Now you'll accuse me of spouting doomsday prophecies, and having all the answers. You'll also accuse me of wanting everything to be the way I want it. Just. Like. You. Lucky for you things are the way you want them to be. For now.

I keep asking you who "my gang" is and you never tell us. What do you think my beliefs are anyhow?
The left has been in power for almost a decade. The recent Trump presidency is only a few months old. So what are you babbling about? Which one is my gang exactly? Who do you think was the last person I voted for? Are you that uninformed? Oh wait, no it is obvious yes you are.

What are you babbling on about? Must be smoking something good.
Who is "my gang"? Come on back up your bs just ONCE! Who is my gang and what are they in charge of? Funny because NOBODY who represents anything I believe has been in power probably in my lifetime.

What drives the market is fear and greed, fear is that which is driving the C02 bubble, which looks like it is about to burst.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

I think Landmark is right. I put up the evidence some time ago. For security reasons, the military had refused to declare how much they were using but when they were forced to, it turned out that they were using more than everybody as I recall.
