Once the "launch week contest" is over, the individual that wins and receives the Crown Jewels (Artifactum Elite) should private message me here on the Café.
I have a very specific vision for something beyond what's included in the two "Gemini Editions" of Crown Jewels I sent to Vic for the contest, but am still awaiting specific materials to complete the item in question. I want to ensure that, when complete, this additional piece of the set reaches the winner. Thank you. |

Just got mine today. Chris has, once again, outdone himself. Anyone who has come to know and appreciate his pieces of theatre (Cuss Cards, Hedge Tarote, Sailor's Purse, Kadar, A Death in the Family, among others...) has come to anticipate a tremendous level of thought into not only the workings and the writings, but the artistry contained therein. This is no exception. For a reader - novice or seasoned - or someone who wants to learn a way to do readings, this is highly recommended. And, of course, Vic's amazing communication and shipping speed. Living in the USA, it is a treat to not have to wait for Chris' pieces coming from across the pond and getting caught up in customs as the officials scratch their heads and wonder what kind of eccentric has purchased these oddities.
Thanks, Chris and Vic! Another shining star in the cap of Alchemy Moon and Gemini Artifacts! David |

Enjoyed the podcast. Confirms that I made the right choice in purchasing. Having a physical book instead of a PDF was another plus for me.

As the first wave of Artifactum start to arrive in safe hands, I want to pop in here and say thanks for all of the kind comments so far.
I also want to thank my collaborators on this project, specifically - Paul Kostrach for sticking with me through two years of rewrites and revisions (I cannot tell you just how hard it was to trim down all of my notes to fit into 200 pages and the living hell this put the ever uncomplaining Paul through). I would also like to thank the mysterious presence behind Peculiar Antiques for making those wonderful Crown Jewels (what I would give to get my hands on one of those myself!), but not only this, but for being an inspiration in terms of design and core ideas during the development of the Artifactum. I would also like to extend thanks to John Green. Although John was not around during the writing of the Artifactum, I think we will be hearing a lot more of his ideas in 'The Book of Doors' which will follow. Also a huge thanks to John for organising, sound engineering and editing the podcast. Finally, I would like to thank Mr Vic Nadata, for being a real gent to work with and for making such a great job of printing and ageing the cards - they have come out exactly as I envisioned. We often think that a creation is the product of a single person or persons. Yet, this is rarely the case. Not only are our ideas informed by what we have learnt from others, but from something more mysterious and intangible. Any idea we have is - or should - be greater than the person who simply wrote it down. Sometimes we have an idea or a motivation that seems to come from somewhere more nebulous than the creators ego. With the Artifactum I feel this so keenly, so keenly that I do not really see it as being my piece of work, it is a cocreation between friends known and unknown, seen and unseen. So the above credits are genuine and grounded in a metaphysical truth! The most substantial thanks go out to you for supporting this work. Without you, there really would be no point in toiling away for years. The Artifactum is a complex beast, with many ideas and challenging concepts under the hood. It heralds a new direction for Alchemy Moon. It is a result of meditating on my own work and my thoughts on the purpose and possible direction that magic could take (in a world that largely denies its existence). I am currently working on several ways to support and extend the Artifactum. There is far too much to tell you all about in one post, but I did want to say a few words about the ideas that John and I have for the podcast. The Podcast Our aim here is to produce a series of podcasts, the one above is just meant as a general introduction for those who are unsure as to what the Artifactum is. The next stage is to look at each area or 'Pillar' of the Artifactum in a separate podcast. This will take a deeper look at the methods and philosophy behind each Pillar, and will act as something of a tutorial and deeper discussion of the concepts. The Artifactum Book was heavily edited to keep it down to 200 pages, so there is a lot more to talk about. I know that people will have many questions about the Artifactum; either to help them decide upon owning it, or to clarify after they have received it. I am working on a means of facilitating this. For now, if you post any questions here, I will answer them directly. Or, if you pm me here, or email me at alchemytalk@gmail.com, I will get back to you asap. I really do hope that you derive a good deal of pleasure from the Artifactum and find all of the treasures that are to be found in its meandering corridors. It is always a deeply personal thing when you bring something out for the community, something that started life as random electrical impulses in the brain, that becomes a physical manifestation and end up being a material object that you hold in your hands. It is a strange baby, and its father is more than a little eager to learn what you think of it! I have belatedly sent out a thank you letter to all of you who have the Artifactum - as it was belated - here is a link for those who we may have missed. https://1drv.ms/b/s!AvQ_c2bR7fVwg9pnuKXwX5h_NtFEFg Finally - I am sorry that I am quieter on here than perhaps I should be - I do have my reasons, but none of them reflect a lack of regard for the good people here. I promise to leave my cave - just as soon as I have finished…….

Thank you so much for all your doing to support owners of this release, Chris. I've been devouring the book since receiving it, and each section I think "Oh! Now that's what I'm going to start doing with the Artefactum.. [read on] No, wait! Now this is what I'm going to want to do with it!" There's simply so many great ideas and concepts on how to approach using it that it's difficult to decide.
I'm very much looking forward to the individual "pillar" podcasts you refer to, as I'm dying to see what there wasn't space for in the book! Already having some fun times with these--thank you again for your hard work and creativity! |

I now must soon begin saving my coin and jiggering a new budget in hopes of an "Elite" version being available down the path! Thanks so much to Chris for all you do and who you are!

Few months ago, I had the chance to have a wonderful two-weeks road trip in New-Zealand.
Having heard about the incredible discovery of M Allen Michaels, it was not open to discussion ... I had to go to Whakatane ! Fortunately, I found the antique furniture store in question and met Mr Michaels in person. We broke the ice over a beer at the Craic Irish Pub (by the way, the Epic Armageddon IPA is just exquisite !) and we spoke at length about the intriguing box that he had discovered. Several beers later, noticing my real interest for the box of Velasco, he confided to me that there was one more thing in the box, something he had omitted to mention to the press. I felt my heart beating fiercely... I knew intimately that it was an important moment ! Against all odds , he gave me an appointment the next day, to show me the object in question. You can imagine my EXCITEMENT !!! The following day ,as agreed, we met at his store. He took me to the unused room at the back of the store, the place where he had discovered the famous box. Then, he showed me the box itself and I could have a look to some of the papers penned by Velasco. Amongst some of them, pertaining to alchemical and occult themes, there was loose sheets of papers that seemed to come from a personnal Diary of Velasco. It seemed to be transcriptions of dreams and visions that he had. To be honest, I felt like I was reading transcriptions of Psilocybin Mushroom Experiences by Terence McKenna. In fact, it all made sense as soon as I could see and handle, for the first time, one of the Velasco-printed Deck of divination cards. It's hard to discribe the atmosphere it delivers and the experience I had that day. I was hypnotised by the vivid colors and the intriguing images in each of the cards. Each one was an invitation to a dream and to a voyage. I remember that the first card ( but I should perhaps speak more of a Portal) transported me to the Afqa waterfall. For only a moment, I was Adonis and I could swear that I saw the beautiful Aphrodite smiling at me ! The second Portal transported me to Long Island. I found myself base jumping in the Dean's blue hole and swimming throughout the ocean's depth. The third travel scared me a little bit because I found myself at the base of a volcano few minutes before its eruption, amongst people screaming for help. That seemed so real!!!! I told myself that this was something that had happened or should happen. Later on, after some research I found that I've had a vision of the last explosion of Mt Pelé in 1902. I felt like J.W. Dunne and I knew that Velasco's Deck had allowed me to defy time and space. So, I can confirm the power of these cards and, above all, I can understand the fears of Allen, along with his will to be rid of the old, antiquated Antique decks Velasco used for inspiration! ( I did not have the opportunity to see these ones up close, as Allen had already give them away ). This said, as I was experiment with the Portals, Allen walked slowly out of the room and came back few minutes later with something in his hand ! The Thing was an old leather coin purse injured by age. He handed me the purse. There was two compartments. I opened the first one carefuly and found inside some old currencies from Australia and New Zealand. The content of the 2nd compartement was … far more enigmatic !!! By chance Allen was willing to sell me the purse with one of the decks! Now I have more work to do in order to find the link between the content of the purse and the Portals. I'm completely convinced that some marvellous discoveries await me ! The Traveller. |

Well, I received my set on Thursday of this week and these are just beautiful works of art that definitely whisper magical secrets into my ears. I think Chris and Vic did a wonderful job with this release. I have been digesting all of the magical food for thought these "pages" and "doorways" have given me. I will write more when I have had a chance to handle them for a longer period of time. These are just my first impressions.
I've actually listened to the Podcast twice since it was released (my first listen made me decide to purchase the Artifactum) and look forward to the future ones and sharing some ideas in the Artifactum library. Dave Birtwell |

Have started doing guided visualization with these (a bit per the manual, and a bit per discussions with Chris) and, man... if these weren't already my go-tos these days (they are) then they sure as heck would be. Each time I crack open the book or use the cards for someone, I'm reminded how incredibly flexible they are. Thank you, Chris!
