Dropped our son off in LA last week, to hopefully have a career as a screenwriter. To minimize the pressure of job hunting, we made a stop at The Last Bookstore in downtown LA:
http://lastbookstorela.com The store is very cool, and reminded me of The Strand in New York http://www.strandbooks.com We spent a couple of hours there which isn't very hard to do, and I bought two beauties you Spookies may be interested in: Diableries — http://www.londonstereo.com/diableries which can be purchased inexpensively here — https://www.amazon.com/Diableries-Stereo......57424604 An elaborate production consisting of a book sleeve containing a durable 3D viewer, and separate book with expertly reproduced imagery for nightmarish viewing pleasure. The cover of the book even has a lenticular photograph. Not bad for a less than $50 book. I'm betting The Curator has some original versions of these 3D images. and Beyond the Dark Veil — https://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Dark-Veil-......6719796X I know Victorian mourning photography has been done to death (pun fully intended), but this volume is very well produced. The cover is lush and embossed, and the photographs are meticulously reproduced. I highly recommend both books.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

They both land on my list to buy. I was not aware of Brian May being person of so many talents. He is behind the Diableries. Did you read the Beyond or it's just for the spooky pictures? Sometimes I end up just staring at the CDVs on books without even worrying of the story line.

I haven't read it yet, but it is primarily photo-driven.
