For those of you using the Sp*** Co** thru bag, just how deceptive in real performances has this been for you? I watched a guy do it at a street fair this past weekend and it screamed obvious to me. Maybe he was using the wrong type of bag?

It is most deceptive when a clean wrinkle free bag and high gloss coin are used. If the bag is dirty, wrinkled and foggy from age the coin will not look like it is in the bag.

I agree with Inviso this is a very deceptive effect. His suggestions above are excellent. Since spectators are generally unaware of this coin gaff, they simply have no way to reverse engineer the effect.

I agree that the bag should be new and wrinkle free. You can buy a ton of them on eBay cheaply. I perform coin thru bag all the time and give the person bag with the penny inside as a souvenir when done with the quarter after cleanup. I'm out 30 cents but the spectator leaves with a miracle. I like ending it with the 3 inch coin kicker as a finale.
I forgot to add that I have never been busted yet. Even at very close range. |

I got like 200 perfect little bags for this effect at either walmart or a local craft shop (they sell them in the jewelry section). They were only $5 or less if I recall. I just loaded up a penny in each of about 20 of them and keep them in my case ready to go. My S***T c**n is a KY Quarter from Todd Lassen and I keep about ten KY Quarters in my case too. Not super important, but if you happen to have a pile of exact matches, why not use them?
As webtech stated, close up and personal, still slips on by. It could have been the bag or it could have been a bit of your personal "magician eyes". Either way, I still never hesitate to use it in almost any situation.
