Now that my grandkids are no longer little kids, I'm somewhat out of touched with the younger ones.
Besides the alphabet song, what are good songs to use for sing-a-longs? |

How about John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt?
This was my son's favorite song when he was growing up. Gerry |

Thanks Gerry. What I'm looking for is a song the the kids are singing now. I was thinking of perhaps using an echo song. For the real young ones, I always used the alphabet song. I'm looking for songs for kids that have outgrown a,b,c song

This one was a favorite with the kids at my school:
"Catalina Magdalena Hoopensteiner Wallendiner Hogan Logan Bogan Was Her Name" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNLkJIDcCUc The kids won't be able to sing all the words, but they'll pick up on the constantly repeated title after they've heard the song enough. The book by Tedd Arnold was a favorite with the kids. Arnold's illustrations are outstanding. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaezt
----- Sonny Narvaez

Depends on the age. Now a days, I find that kids 6 and under sing anything from the latest Disney movie out in theaters. Especially if they recognize a person from a show. Kids older than that usually find songs on the radio. There are a lot of kid stars from Disney, Teen Nick that sing as well.

My grandkids go back to Raffi's Apples & Bananas. They were, (or are), a great act.

They were surprised that I knew the movie, but I could tell they were very happy about an adult relating to their world. - Donald

Songs from Disney films is a good suggestion. Also other popular kids’ movies. And don’t forget pop hits by young artists like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Kids sing along to their tunes and already know every word. (I used to do a routine which culminated in the song “Baby Baby” by Justin Bieber, and as soon as the kids heard the first two notes, they went ballistic!

When my puppet sings "Let It Go" from Frozen, some kids sing along, and some hold their ears because they're so sick of it. The simultaneous opposite response always gets a laugh.

I wrote my own theme song for my family shows, sung and composed by Toby Wilson. I debuted it at a Corn Maze this year where I perform every week each year for the six weeks it's open. I was thrilled to see children and parents clapping along to it, and singing along with the chorus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j9Tf58m_fo

A custom theme song is definitely the way to go! Here’s one we wrote for Dynamike:

For the younger ones, my great granddaughter finds them on youtube.
