Hello everyone,

some time ago on ellusionist.com I had seen a deck labeled ULTRA GAFF cards. The only ones I can now find on there seem to be gaff decks for arcane/tiger cards.

Any idea where I can get my hands on one of the ultra gaff decks, or maybe someone has a spare pack that they would be willing to sell?

Regards,
LoKii

You need to decide whether or not it is worth it to start working with the Ultra Gaff cards. They will no longer be made. I'm sure they ran into the same problem some other gaffed decks ran into - a violation of the stricter policy on changing certain aspects of Bicycle artwork.

It's been a few years now, but USPCC began to get very strict about what they would let people change when having gaffed cards printed. The Bicycle Rider Back design, the ace of spades and the joker were now untouchable - as far as changing the lines/shapes on the cards. Color variations are OK but no morphing of the these three areas were allowed. Of course this made many gaffs off-limits.

Many people have switched to Mandolin, Maiden or Phoenix backs for their gaff work.

You should also know that there were counterfeit Ultra Gaff decks coming from overseas and it is likely that some people don't even know that the decks they bought were knockoffs. If you buy from someone, make sure they purchased the deck directly from Ellusionist.

Hello DelMagic, please excuse my delayed reply and thank you for your response.

I understand what you mean, and in addition I also respect that using gaffs will show spectators that such cards are even in existence, which might in some cases be negative. I also agree with what you said, to make sure that the gaffs will be available, especially with the decks that should go with them.

Please do not get me wrong, whilst I do like the artwork and effects that some gaff decks have, I will still be more interested in normal tricks, sleight of hand and so on. My main reason for wanting the ultra gaff deck is, that I was just so amazed by the demo video that I saw on ellusionist. When I saw it, I was like "I want that deck really bad". So in essence you could say that I want it more just to have it, rather than have my tricks depend on them. And since they are no longer available, as time passes they will be harder to find.

I too have other gaffs like Mandolins, and I'm looking into phoenix ones too, but boy would I just love to get my hands on the ultra gaff decks.. Specifically the ones made by Wayne Houchin and Daniel Garcia. (see attachment image for precise version.

I would still be really happy if anyone might have a deck that they would be willing to sell.

Regards,
LoKii
