This will be a great series, looking forward to it. (But the trick I want to learn is how he seems to get younger with age.)

Hey guys,
I found a book from Scott with a similar title. Does anybody know if the content is also the same? It would also be interesting if the book covers the content of the upcoming DVD volumes as well... Scott's stuff is 99% of the time pure gold and I'm very interested in his pro-advices but if I can get the "full package" of knowledge I would prefer the book instead of 5 DVDs Cheers Nikki

Volume Two ships on Monday! You can get it from me or wonderful dealers like Saturn in the UK.
Thanks for the nice comments!! The dvds are a massive expansion from the original lecture notes. I chose to go the DVD route and not the printed word so I could really get across things that I couldn't effectively describe in printed form. Especially the live performances of the tricks and the discussion on how those tricks fit different parts of a show. check out Volume Two here... http://scottalexander.bigcartel.com/prod......volume-2 |

There is not much talk on these on here, I'm guessing due to the price of these DVDs.
I can say having watched them all that I have picked up quite a few pointers that have made a difference to my show. I would say the discs would be of more use to the person that is new to standing up and would be well worth the investment. If you have been performing for a while the routines alone are worth watching and you will know if only a few things change in your act after watching theses discs it will have been money well spent. One surprise was Scott's needles routine in its basic form (not the full retail version) which is performed and explained on one disc making that worth the price of the disc alone. If you are serious about performing or starting to perform on stage / parlour you should check these out.

Hey Mark,
Glad you picked up a few pointers for your show and that you like the DVDs! I also appreciate that you see the value and potential in someone really studying these and gleaning ways to improve what they already do. Stand up magic is definitely not as prominent as close up these days, but when some of those close up folks want to take it to the stage...these DVDs will be a welcome road map I'm sure. Not to mention that there are several concepts on these that even close up workers can implement. |
