What is “it”?

Basically you can rent a dealer and a table and have your own private game at a casino... basically the casino takes the standard rake and you play poker with your buddies.... in exchange for the rake, they supply you with the table and the dealer.... In my neck of the woods, some " charity" casinos tried it but it was mostly a failure...Some guys tried it out just to show off to the public..

“Would anyone be interested in a £500.00 cash game to be held at The Broadway Casino Birmingham on 17th May 2005, start time 9pm FREE drinks FREE buffett, no session, dealer provided.”
Note: “no session” no rake that means and so that which you describe is not what it is going on there. I do not know for sure but I think what is going on here is that you can hire a table for the afternoon for about $100. You can provide your own dealer or deal yourself or do whatever you want but what you cannot do is charge session or rake because it is a private game albeit in a casino. I meant to ask but I forgot.

They apparently offer different packages but will essentially do for you whatever you want in the party rooms within reason.

What really interests me is the idea of a private exclusive game in a casino. To the professional player, the exclusive factor is or can be a form of control, which can give him the advantage.

When you say control what do you mean?? As in you get to choose who can attend??? As far as the equipment and dealer, its provided by the casino...

Well, yes! For a full time poker player, the ideal game is obviously one with wealthy part-time poker players and he will not simply sit back and wait to be invited to such a game but he will act in order to build one. A full time poker player will know how to coax and flatter any wealthy part-time player, which he might find in a public card room where he plays sometimes and, more importantly, provide the sort of surroundings a sportsman can enjoy in a world that he thought he had lost, in a private house in King Edwards Place, just off Broad Street. High stakes private games are normally built around a wealthy part-time poker player stolen from a public card room and that is how it begins and works at our place.
How it works in a casino we don't know.
