Depends.
If you're only into cards, CC. If you want to learn general magic, Tarbell. |

Both of them. If you can’t afford all of them, buy volume one and two of each set. Study them, it will take you a lot of time, so you can save money fo the others volumes.

What’s your knowledge about magic ? What are you interested more in ? Suggesting something without knowing anything is quite difficult.

I should have included the following information. I have been studying magic, on and off, for the last 20 years. I have a fair amount of knowledge in many areas of the art. In the last 5-10 years I haven'd had much time to devote to magic. I have recently decided it was time to start again. I want to purchase either the Tarbell Course or Card College. Sometime down the road I will purchase the other.

If you really enjoy card magic, I'd say Card College.

You can get the original Tarbell course as a free pdf download from magicbunny.co.uk. That should give you a good idea of what the course covers.

I think the Tarbell books are the best choice. It not only provides you with a wealth of knowledge on card magic, but on just about every area on magic as well. If I were able to start over in magic, the Tarbell books would be the first set of books I would purchase.
I would then recommend: Bobo, Rice Silks, and Card College. A lifetime of magic in all those books. The order of books purchased would be your choice, but I highly recommend that ALL titles go on your bookshelf. |

After 20 years in magic probably you need something more focused than the Tarbell, so my suggestion is Card College. But I think that probably what you might need more is Scripting Magic by McCabe (difficult to find) or one of the books written by Eugene Burger.

Tarbell because it has card tricks and more.
No matter how many times you say the wrong thing, it will NEVER be right.
