The Vernon Chronicles Vol 4
I've been reading vol 3 of the Vernon Chronicles series and, in the author's introduction, Stephen Minch says that vol 4 is 'already in progress.' It was to have contained material drawn from notes by Conrad Bush, Frank Csuri,Faucett Ross and others. As we all know, this never materialised. Vol 4 was published as a biography of Vernon. Does anyone know why it never appeared and, more importantly, was the promised material ever published? |

You can find several items that were supposed to be in Volume 4 in the May 1989 Genii (Vol. 52, No. 11). In that issue, Stephen Minch wrote:

Preparation has already begun on Volume 4. This book will be based mainly on material preserved in notes recorded during the 1940s and 1950s by Conrad Bush, Frank Csuri, Dr. Daley, Faucett Ross and others. In this special issue of Genii you will find several fine tricks, all drawn from the fourth volume. "Er-Aced" was originally recorded by Mack C. Picknick in 1953, shortly after he was shown the vanish by Mr. Vernon at the IBM convention in Philadelphia. Mr. Vernon described "Deep Plunge" to Charlie Miller in a letter dated September 26th, 1955. And "The Seven-Card Princess"has been a mainstay in the Vernon repertoire for many years. I know most of the material for the Vernon Chronicles came from Bruce Cervon's "Castle Notebooks," which have now been published separately. |

I thought the Chronicles was originally supposed to be 6 books.

Thank you for the Genii reference Cameron. I have the Cervon notebooks but I was particularly interested in the note by Minch as the material was taken from a different source. Look like most of it remains unpublished ☹️️

Patiecnce ....while there will not be a chronicles 5 or 6 there is Vernon material coming soon.
A vol. 2 of his biography Another book with his card material. We have already seen additions to his material in Revelation I am sure there is some material that Vernon had that will never see print as he was constantly working on things but what is coming will be interesting at the very least. |

Regarding vol. 2 of the Vernon biography, I saw David Ben a few days ago and he thought it would be another 2 years.
