If you get these cards greerj, please let us know.
Another Café member and I did not get our decks. We were supplied with the usual promises that come from folks that are too busy (and should not advertise because of it), but only ended up with a partial refund and the sting that comes from this kind of business. If things have changed, great.

Actually, the price looks a little low for aged Tarot to me, especially with each card hand aged and different. If I were to run a scam that is how I'd do it. Make the price irresistible. Not saying that is what is happening but when I see something offered at this price I question it. I would like to know if the order is filled because I would like a deck as well.

Actually I got my deck from them a couple of years ago. I just thought someone else might be interested since they are claiming to be back in business. The cards are good, the markings are the easiest to read, but they are very slick and do not look or feel old. I tell people that they are reproductions of an old set, not an old set itself. Based on what I have heard here, one should order at one's own risk.

That's what I tell my clients; well, sort of. I tell them to bury their loved lines at their own risk. We all know about Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, not to menton Rumple Stilskin. Now how would those story end if they had been embalmed? Kids crying themselves to sleep I suppose.

The transaction (or lack of one) that I'm referring to took place earlier this summer.
I just want to be clear, this is mine and one other Café member's experience. If you (anyone) got a deck, great. If there's new information that states these decks are being delivered, great. I only know what I've stated. . .

I make two purchases from the old seller at two years ago.
I was very happy with the negotiation. Today... I not know. |

Ok, scrub that. I've just received my cards with a very nice letter. There is new management at ominousmagic.com, and the new owner is busy untangling old misplaced orders, mine was from way back in march.
So all is forgiven, and the cards are very nice indeed. In light of the needed changes to management already mentioned, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from these guys again. And I'm pretty confident that all paid and forgotten orders like mine will be dealt with in due course. |

Hello everyone! I am the new owner of ominousmagic.com. I have finished untangling the mess made of the few orders that were screwed up by the previous owner. He is a fine artist, but completely disorganized, scattered and absent minded. He's my husband, I should know. I have taken over the handling of the business and shipping side of things. I have given full refunds for the orders not received and also sent those orders out for free. If there is anyone that I have overlooked, please send me a PM or email info@ominousmagic.com. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in a change purse made from my husband's scrotum, I have one for sale. (Just kidding. OK, not really.)
weepinwil - The cards have an aged appearance. The edges of the cards have been colored by hand to match the printed aging effect on the front and backs. There was much thought put into whether the surface of the cards should be aged by hand, but that would ruin the ability to easily fan and spread the cards, which is important to many magicians (this is what I've been told - I'm not a magic geek myself.) The edges of the cards are colored by hand, though, so that the decks don't look white and new from the side. Anyway, that's the reason for the low price. It's still a time consuming pain in the butt to hand color the edges because spacers have to be put in between each card in the deck so the alcohol based ink doesn't cause all the cards to stick together as it dries. |

A small addendum to the post I made above. To be fair, going through all the previous orders, there are just shy of two hundred decks from a total of 146 orders that did make it to their owners without a problem, and lots of very complimentary emails from people who loved the decks and pendulums, so my husband wasn't a complete idiot while he was in charge of the business. Poor *** is pouting, so I just thought I'd throw that in.

Your husband isn't the first creator around here to lack a sense for business.
Thank you for cleaning up!

WOW! These look beautiful and I am glad you worked out the 'business' end of things. My wife got a kick out of the thread. I am heading over now to place an order. Thanks for the update everyone.
