I know that a lot of entertainers use puppet during their shows, but do you think Digital Puppets would be of interest for performances? If you have not heard about this, it is now possible to create real time cartoons that can interact with audiences, both online and on stage. You could either do a show as a puppet, or create pre programed triggers which you could control via a phone hidden in a prop.
You can see loads of examples on our website at www.digitalpuppets.co.uk, which is apart of my studio www.lookcreativestudio.co.uk, that has been making cartoon logos for entertainers all over the world for many years now |

Yeah, that sounds cool. Please explain it more, with cost ranges and options. How could that work for ventriloquists?

Hello Dan
There are a couple of ways you could control the digital puppet 1) Either yourself or an assistant controls the puppet via a laptop, hidden somewhere in the room. The puppet can then interact with yourself/audience in real time 2) As I mentioned above, the puppet could have pre-made responses, which you could trigger using your phone, which could be hidden in a prop. Character wise I am thinking about creating a off the shelf puppet, a rabbit in the hat, which I would sell for £300, however, if a person wanted their own unique build digital puppet, the price would range from £500+ depending on what they wanted, as you can make a cartoon character do absolutely anything. A £500 DP would cover design and build, with a puppet that has 3 emotional expressions (sad, happy, mad), draggable arms, and animated blinks and full lip sync. The price would rise for us to also build in trigger motions, special effects, pre-recorded vocals, etc. I havent worked out a proper list yet as I am just seeing if there is a demand for it. |
