Hello Atlas,

It’s rather something to say about yourself, that you are a nice person....

But here we go:
This afternoon I’m taking my 81 year old mum for a Chrismas lunch and boy, will I try to make it as memorable as possible for both of us.
Does that count?

Thank you for your generous offer, sir!

Frank
Forgive me any language mistakes.

I'm Dutch.

There are so many people hurting around the world that my meager existence seems somewhat insignificant. All that I can do is offer to help when I can. I feel so small most of the time and wish I could do REAL magic to end the suffering I see and hear daily. My ability to move others through magic does make a difference on a superficial level and I want to do more. Giving money helps me to feel good but there never seems to be enough. I try to touch those who come into my life as I believe they are brought to me by forces outside myself and are with me for a reason. I have sat with Kings and Paupers and found that the humanity we share knows no class or economic structure. I have known rich who suffer not the material constraints of the poor but the emotional and spiritual confines similar to those in prison. I have known poor who can't feed themselves for lack of work but who are full of love for there fellow man and if all they had was a crust of bread would share it with others hungry.

So thank you Atlas for your kind and generous offer and if I'm selected as the winner I will donate the cash equivalent of your work to one of the needy suffering organizations helping others around the world today. But don't let that sway your decision I wouldn't want to cause any bad feelings. In fact just the opposite. I hope your offer does inspire those here to not only do something for others today but everyday and regardless of reward. For me this time of year reminds me of how the most selfless act came from One who loved us so unconditionally that He gave his life so that we could live forever with Him.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! And may God bring you and yours the things that matter most LOVE PEACE AND HAPPINESS.

Hi Atlas,

now that is an idea to ponder on. I am not so sure what to make of it. I know you only by your work and there mainly your Penguin lecture. Which is great by the way, even if all I remember your stories.

You do this to do something good so it would be nice to multiply this. How to best accomplish this? The only way I see is to use your material and use it in a performance to amaze the audiance. Perferably sick children or charge admition and donate the whole fee.

I want to participate and Tell you how kind I am that feels rather lame.

I could also say I perfom before homeless every christmas but that is my charity not yours and I not inclined to share it. Also I do not use your material there, becaue I like mine better. 😀

So you see my friend, with all of us being kind we are at a standoff.

Sorry for rumbling in this thread but it is the time of year.

So lets all take a page out of Atlas book and make the world a better place. What better time than Christmas to stread a sense of wonder!

Merry Christmas to all!

Hello

It is all too easy to avoid helping others, especially if it means we inconvenience ourselves. I had the opportunity to help out someone today that I would normally avoid, but then I remembered seeing your post. Thanks for jogging the conscience Atlas.

This is really a good idea Atlas, I will be going out and doing something nice for someone else however, I would like to be withdrawn from your prize draw as I feel that then I am doing something for genuine selfless reasons and not just so I can be in with a chance of winning something. I do think that this is a great idea though as it will potentially make some one do something for others who may not have done so without your post. Good luck to all those who are entering and do something to make others smile.

Thank you Atlas for this!

Hoping that people who joned in really will help someone out and that it just won’t stay with words.

Since Luke, as myself, didn’t want to be in on this, I am curious to see who will get his great price Smile
