I thought it would be fun to create a list of the 100 most famous or influential card tricks among magicians.I will start with two, but lets see if we can come up with at least 100. Then we can try to prioritize them. I will edit the first post of this thread to consolidate our responses.
Chicago Opener or Red Hot Mama - This trick was first published by Al Leech in Hot Card Trick No. 1. The trick was made famous by Frank Everhart in Frank Garcia's book, Million Dollar Card Secrets (1972). The first time I saw this trick was from a video of Pop Haydn. Then I learned it from watching Michael Ammar's Easy to Master Card Miracles Volume 1. Twisting the Aces - This trick was invented by Dai Vernon and first published in Dai Vernon's More Inner Card Secrets of Card Magic written by Lewis Ganson (1960). This trick made the Elmsley Count famous and is one of the best packet card tricks of all time. |

I'll throw in Vernon's Triumph. I think it's one of the strongest impromptu card tricks one can do.

Out Of This World has to be in the top five I’d think.

A century ago, The Rising Card(s) was the champ.
Ambitious Card had a notable reign. Torn and Restored Card became a dominant trick after Guy Hollingworth performed his Reformation on TV in 1996. For years, everyone was trying to "improve" his piece-by-piece restoration. Any Card At Any Number took over after T&R. The landscape was littered with piles of ACAAN routines for a solid decade. |

Those already mentioned (which I totally agree with) - not in any order other than by mention:
1) Chicago Opener 2) Twisting the Aces 3) Triumph 4) OOTW 5) Rising Card 6) ACR 7) Torn and Restored Card 8) ACAAN I'm going to suggest the following: 8) Card to Wallet 9) Sam the Bellhop 10) Oil and Water 11) Card to Ceiling 12) Gemini Twins 13) Card Calling 14) False Deal Gambling Demostration 15) 10 Card Poker Deal 16) Card Warp 17) Color Monte And, of course: 18) 3 Card Monte |

Out of this world Is a great trick . What is the original version and is there a version that popularized the trick?

I don't think there is a true top 100 as most effects are variations on the same plot, a top 20 would seem more doable. That's not to say I'm wrong though so if there are 100 totally different card plots I would love to know them as it would be very interesting.
The simple 2 card transpo in all it's variations has to up there with the best as the reactions from this simple effect are always amazing. |

I agree with most of those already suggested but I would add Six Card Repeat, one of the first card tricks I ever saw many years ago and I still love it!

I think Do As I Do has to be up there, and the basic 4-Ace tricks. And Warren, you are spot-on about all the two-card transpos -- whichever one you do, this is a fast and economical way to make a good impression.

The categorization work of Denis Behr at his conjuring archive might be useful.

Ace Assembly
Wild Card Card to Wallet and Card to ceiling have already been said, I was going to add card to box and card to pocket. Do you think these should all just be listed together as "card to impossible location" or do you think they're different enough to have their own spot? |

I like all the more famous, even classic card tricks too, but the ones that really stick with me are the little gems you find out there from time to time, that often do not get the larger notoriety but are wonderful card tricks to present. Love those!
