Ever since stealing the identity of Jay Gordon and Arthur Leslie and combining the two to become the new 'Jay Leslie' you now see before you - but back to the point.....). Thanks for the post, Jay. You have made very sensible points that all can learn from. And you are right if someone with as much experience as Richard says a product is not great it must be so. Also, the point about learning from his comments to move forward and made the product better is very valid. I can instantly see a way that the item in question can be improved and coming up with a locking mechanism would add to it's value. The last thing you want is to be out of your restraint before you are due to start your escape. I'm not even sure (on re-reading his post several times) he was disparaging. His review was informative (without revealing method, if you don't know how they work or have little or no experience) and blunt and to the point. If a product is not worth getting then I for one would like to know that. I don't want a mediocre review that seems to be positive to result in me buying something that is not good value for money. I honestly believe anyone reviewing a product needs to be honest and if it's not up to scratch they should say so. Anyway, I think this thread is done and can be summarised like this: Somone wanted a review of a specific item Richard Sherie, who is of great experience as a performer and builder provided such review. The item is not up to scratch for professional escape artist requirements. The inventor/producer of the item is not happy about the review. Jay Leslie has made the point that Richard is very experienced and that the producer could improve the item to meet Richards high standards and sell even more of the item. |
