Hi
I bought a prop in the late 80o's /early 90's , a "Double ended Trouble Light" added some cage light covers to it, it used "Atomic" light bulbs. As I worked in the Electrical Industry I used it in performances at Electrical Trade Shows. Good comedy effect: 2 trouble lights joined by about 18" of extension cable. It's sat in a box for 25 years in excellent condition. The problem in the 90's Atomic light bulbs were not very bright so in well lit shows it wasn't as visible. I have noticed now these type bulbs are (apparently) much brighter, so I'd like to bring it out of retirement. Google it, and searched the 'net but no info on it at all. (instructions etc) Nala |

"Light Bulb Magic" from The Wizards' Journal # 33 shows how to make REALLY BRIGHT self-contained light bulbs for Atomic Lights, or for use in Milk to Light Bulb, Floating Light Bulb, etc. Inexpensive, too!

There’s a guy around who makes/sells an LED version of the old Atomic Bulb. I have the same setup of a cord with a socket on each end.

Steve , I bought some from someone on the café years ago, the problem they could not be screwed into the socket
as I was told the could. I couldn't find anything about the prop even searching the internet. |

With the method described in The Wizards' Journal #33, you can use the same glass Atomic Lamp you have always used, but just pull out the works and install a new one (much brighter LED and much smaller battery) made from Dollar Store parts for a buck. Or you can use my source to get clear plastic bulbs that will screw into a standard screw-type light socket if you adapt it to fit.
