Surely you already know what your going to perform or you wouldn't have taken the gig ?

How long are you there for and are they expecting a parlour show or walk around because whilst similar they are two different situations your not really giving much information, so I would say do what you already know as a couple of days isn't really enough time to put in something new especially for a paying audience.

In that case just do your regular Parlour show ie keep it simple and do what you do well it's pointless trying to learn anything new so close to the gig.

At least you didn't wait until the last minute.

Miser's Dream, rings, rope, cups and balls, rainbow silk to mouth coil.

Your mileage may vary,

Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

All FANTASTIC ideas with only one tragic flaw. Probably going to take more than 24 hours to learn the routines.

Yep, maybe take a year or two to put together a decent 60min parlor show, then a few more to iron it out.
But, all these props are in stock at your local magic shop, and they come with instructions! or DVD or download...

I'm not even going to attempt, to reply to this one. Danny had the best answer, and, I can't begin to top that!

The best I could do would be to repeat that old advice: "DON'T QUIT YOUR DAYTIME JOB!"

For other newbies, I'll add the comment of the late S.H. Sharpe, who was not the world's greatest performer, BUT, at least, understood that:

"Those who think that magic consists of doing tricks, are strangers to magic. Tricks are only the crude residue from which the lifeblood of magic has been drained."
