The challenge is this is best appreciated close-up and your participants are going to want to get as close as they can to see this. It will be heard close up if you don't have background music or noise of some sort. I would say that it is quieter than the one with the gimmicks inside the bolt (was that called Ultracinense?) KJ |

I don't know if you experienced any issues with the ever so slight noise issue. If you have been performing in a restaurant, I assume that is not a problem. I frequently perform at senior centers. Even though they usually can't hear very well, there are always staff members, family, and often grandchildren in the room. So, the room can be very quiet unless I am using music. Most of what I do doesn't involve music. I just had a thought: Perhaps to get a spectator to whistle at a certain pitch to make it work. This could provide some good comedy with a group where one person just can't get the pitch right. kj |

Up to this point that has been one of my favorite versions of this effect and worked out a few handling options including a way to do it sealed in a glass tube while a spectator holds it and you are not near it. Have purchased many different methods for this over the years including the original idea by Finn Jon. Am anxious to give this a whirl when I recieve it. Am wondering if it will work as a more powerful "engine" for the "Slo Motion" effect You asked about a Doc Eason effect earlier... It is called "All Screwed Up" |

Thanks, John. You are right, Micro Psychic. I do like it. Haven't used it for a while, but I'm liking this a lot more.

I used a thunbtip version until it broke, and it was the easiest method I’ve used. Cannot for the life of me remember where I got it from now.

Revolution works like a charm for me, though I use a different more direct handling than shown in the expl. video. I have Ultracinese and Micro Psychic too, but Revolution is the only one I am going to
use from now on, as it can be handled in a very natural way, and the nuts and bolts are regular too. Very happy with this. |

On Feb 22, 2018, Dominic Reyes wrote: Thanks Kj, you're welcome. Noise isn't a problem. but then again, I've no problem with the noise level in any of the other devices. It's below normal background levels for dining rooms, bars, drinks receptions etc etc. It's also not an issue when doing social events outside. I do a lot of summer parties/balls, and was using this all last summer for walk-around on lawns. If you were performing in silence for people up close, thenyou would want to create some energy and noise within the routine, It's whisper quiet, but not silent. I've found I'm often 'feeling' it, rather than hearing it. I think it's unavoidable that some will be concerned at first, in the same way people worry about using a TT, but in the years I've been enjoying this, I've not been busted by noise. You could get everyone to hum.. but more for the fun of it than the noise... That could be quite an entertaining presentation.. Perhaps talk about how opera singers can smash wine glasses with their voices... take out the nut and bolt with tweezers and have the whole group hum loudly at it. I don't think you need that to cover up any noise... it might just be a fun thing to get everyone's energy focused and get people laughing etc I remember years ago having a chat with Tom Wright late at night in the Ruskin at Blackpool about a future project he was working on.. he was playing with having all the spectators at a table stand up whilst he worked that table. ( He later releases a DVD on the subject, that's worth checking out) I think having the whole table humming, would grab the rest of the rooms attention, and work just like the standing up. Great attention getter as the other tables wonder what the hell is going on over there... Manybe everyone could do a drum roll on the tabe or their laps.. again, not needed for the noise, but fun. This thread is many pages long now, so I will post the link to the free bonus tutorial. Jimmy has filmed dome extra routines you can do with Re-volution. There’s no need to have brought it from MoM, but you will have to own the device to make use of the routines. You can access the tutorials for free here: http://blog.magicshop.co.uk/re-volution-......tutorial I hope this helps in some way Best wishes Dominic Reyes

Can you control starting and stopping the turning of the nut at any point during performance? If so, is turning off/on the gimmick noticeable? Also, can the speed be controlled of the turning (i.e., slower or faster)?

Only magicians would pay 30 pounds for a 2 pound gimmick.

This could have been a 10 dollar download instructing the viewer to take a trip to walgreens could it not? I had it for an hour and resold it at steep loss.

G’ah And maybe those thoughts are not just for this effect – but for many, many, many others Sometimes those thoughts are quietly spoken in our heads… sometimes we are screaming them [in our heads] The disconnect for me [in this thread] – is you all seem to be saying that this works, how you see it in the video… but you are not happy with what you got [?] I get there may be other arguments along the line of they said he had spent x years developing this… and whether that was an out and out lie. Now that may [or may not] be the case here, so it could well be a legitimate cause to speak out [against the ad copy]. But in regards to what you get, and the price for that… I would suggest you have paid to be able to do what is shown in the video. If you can do that… and you were happy to pay the price [before you got it – to achieve this] – then to complain because of ‘what you get in the package’ – is churlish To further this – in many sans mind products [and many others] you might get more parts with it [in street value than this] but then can’t really achieve what you see in the videos… that would be a much stronger case for complaint – in my book |
