When a magician lectures, at the end, along with tricks and items he/she may have to sell, he/she usually sells his lecture notes. These are small booklets or just a series of sheets of papers photocopied from the originals, in which some or all of the things that were shown during the lecture are described in detail, possibly along with some theory concepts.

So lecture notes' purpose is to help you remember what was shown and explained during that particular lecture.
