One thing I've come to depend on over the years is that Cameron always deliverers the walk he talks
A self working triumph... Very useable. What's not to love.... Make sure you check out the live performance from Blackpool too. There seems to be a trend at the moment with effects ending with blank cards... nice collection around a theme... good stuff for working material sets on a theme. MoM have it on the site now, with FREE worldwide shipping at the moment here: https://www.magicshop.co.uk/mixed-perception Release date is March 12th Hope this helps Dominic

Here's another version with Cameron himself performing the effect a little differently:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9NmqlJRs14 Nice job Cameron. As a life-long packet trick addict, I really like your effect. I don't own Scaandal but it seems like this could possibly be a nice lead in to that effect, or maybe Sander's Alpha Deck, as well as many others I'm sure. |

Yes, Mixed Perception was originally a humble download back in the day. Had to make your own cards. New version has a new, better handling and comes complete with custom printed cards. As usual for BBM, Owen did a GREAT job with this release!

Just a very very quick question....As a magician with only one hand working properly, does this effect use an Elmsley Count?...You can message me privately if you want

No Elmsley count. It’s pretty much self working.

I’m a big fan of Cameron Francis. I’m also a big fan of packet tricks. So this will one naturally peaked my interest. But at $25.00 it was a bit more expensive than I’m used to paying for a single packet trick. But...(drum roll please)...I’m happy I bought this.
I like that the effect is a bit different than so many packet tricks these days. No Elmsley or other counts used in this at all. I also like that Cameron recommends as well as teaches how to begin this routine with a full deck and actually have a spec select the 6 cards used in this trick. There’s a lot I like about this release. But all is not perfect IMO. So it’s only fair that I mention a couple things I wasn’t too crazy about with this product. First, the gaff cards don’t seem like they were printed by USPCC. The ink has a slightly raised feel to it and the colors are off just a bit. Both the faces and backs have a slightly duller appearance to them. Now I hasten to add that I sincerely doubt any specs would ever notice this small discrepancy, but for 25 bucks I do feel they should have been of higher quality. The second thing is that there a particular get-ready which is used twice in the routine and this is explained pretty quickly. It’s not a difficult thing at all but kind of a knack move and I’m sure many people will have no trouble picking it up quickly, while others like myself will have problems becoming confident with it even after much practice. But maybe it’s just me so I’ll keep at it until I get it down pat. But don’t get me wrong, I do not wish to sound negative. This is a very good and workable effect and has a lot going for it. A tad overpriced perhaps but I would buy it over again because I do really like it. I’m looking forward to performing it, it looks like it will be a lot of fun. I think it could be an excellent opener as you can continue on using the regular deck. |

@videoman The Bicycle back design is a registered trade mark - and NOBODY can print it except USPCC, so yes of course they are printed on Bicycle Paper - that said printing custom cards from USPCC aint cheap which is why we see it happening less and less

I was about to hit the button thinking this was supposed to be self working, but then I read videoman's review, especially the above and now having second thoughts. A knacky move doesn't sound like almost self working. Anyone got any comments ? |

DavidKenney, I am aware that printing by USPCC is not cheap, but then again this product isn’t cheap. I would have preferred this in Maiden backs since I do realize that USPCC won’t mess with their Rider backs. That said, it’s still worth owning.
Craigers, many (maybe most) won’t have an issue at all with it, it’s just one of those things that gives me problems. But there is a simple modification to get around it. If you buy it and have a problem PM me and I’ll give you more details. It’s a great routine and a wonderful lead in to any number of other card effects. To prove how much I like it, I’m seriously considering buying a spare back up of it. It’s a great routine IMO. Another home run for Cameron. |

Late to this party, but I like Mixed Perception. I wouldn't say there are any difficult moves - and you get a lot of magic for not much effort. Another great release from Cameron. Full review here: http://www.bicycle-cards.co.uk/2018/06/2......-review/

Hey Videoman - I agree whole-heartedly; it is not "self-working" when a s***ch is the key modus operandi to reach the goal of utter bafflement. As to the gaffed cards - they will pass the inspection of any onlooker, but on Saturday night/private party . . . the young lady that was a little on the nipped side grabbed 2 of the cards while 1 fell out of her hand and landed face-down on the floor (phew) & trouble was her name. We all manage to find a clever out & in my case I Tenkaied a flap card from my jacket packet and pulled her into a 'sudden' transformation suggesting that she had done the same by 'disfiguring' the card & with another sip of her Tequila & all receded into the tunnel of the miraculous.
Cameron Francis is one relaxed player & it is a great packet effect, as long as you manage the business at hand, which means try to find someone who likes to take direction.
We play the Game - but Fate deals the Cards
