Good day friends - can anyone say who invented this trick. Any thoughts - maybe you have it? A chain is looped around a cut glass goblet and placed into a solid cherry case. The chain is passed through a small opening in the front of the door and the door latched. The cabinet is locked. And the chain passes through the goblet stem and is pulled out of the opening. The door is opened and the goblet and chain are still intact. Thank you!
I love the magic & history of magic! My favorites magicians - Dai Vernon, Max Malini, Fielding West, Michael Finney, Jeff Hobson, Bob Sheets, Nick Lewin, Harry Murphy, Dick Oslund- great showmen of magic!

It says in the write up, it is made by Frontier Magic. I have not seen that name in a few years. Don't know if they are still in business. They made on a few items. I remember a huge coin ladder, very rough looking.
The effect looks like they converted an illusion effect down to a smaller size. |

I had heard that Frontier Magic was a different name for Mak Magic. Don't know if they were trying a "come back" so to say, or what.
Can't say that is the true story, just a rumor I heard.

I found the Toast To Houdini effect on Mak Magic website. Its suggested retail price is $170.00
http://www.makmagic.com/product-popup.asp?prodid=P0629 You should be able to get this effect from any Magic Dealer that will order it for you, even if they do not have it in stock or as a regular item. I noticed years ago, that Frontier Magic items were sold though Mak Magic, it may be a craftsman is only selling through them only. |
