I have found using normal A4 printer paper is easier and is exactly the same.

Even if you're creaky and they suspect something, there is (likely) no way people are going to think you have a duplicate of a stapled, cut-in-half card and the routining (not to mention the eye candy of watching the effect) will tend to lead away from any prior suspicion. Perhaps the quality of the trick will be incentive enough to sharpen up a valuable card skill prior to performing it

First time I've been tempted to ever buy anything from Ellusionist. Looks really good and clean. I think the reactions will be great. For those that have purchased. Can you prepare a bunch of them and basically have them sitting around if you don't use them? Or do they kind of need to be "fresh"? I perform for family and friends and would probably prepare a bunch and have them sitting around for months and just use them one at a time.

You should also be careful where and how you store the extra gimmicked cards on your person.

I also purchased this effect - and I really like it! There is some Arts and Crafts involved, but I think that everyone can do this without any problem.
I don't like TnR-effects too much, but I am looking forward to performing this and trying it out! |

But every magician should have these items anyway. Fabian |

Duane says he can make about 20 gimmicks in and hour. I think it will take quite a bit of practice to get up to that speed.

For example, in a front shirt pocket w/ no box, in a box with a few less cards, in a box w/ a couple extra cards, etc... I haven't worked with this aspect yet, and don't recall Duane mentioning it - did he?

Just buy some of those "card collector foils" for single cards...should work

I plan on using a standard card box and just slipping some card sized pieces of wax paper between them. That may even be overkill, but will keep them in perfect condition and its virtually free.

Revive is a slow restoration. You hold a torn card, rub your finger along the tear, and it slowly restores. Both effects are extremely visual and surprising, but they carry out their surprise in different ways. They're both inexpensive and easy to prepare and perform, so I think they both have a place. Torched and Restored doesn't require fire for the method, but it's a key part of the standard presentation. Revive could be used in situations that don't permit fire. Conversely, Revive requires more elaborate preparation, including a key item not always available or practical. Torched and Restored takes about two seconds to prepare, and a makeshift version of the secret item is almost always available even if the best version isn't. So it's not quite impromptu, but pretty close. |
