I think this looks great. People forget that props like this should be essentially invisible to the spectator. They wont be looking for bumps, holes, flaps or slidy bits. If they suspect this holder when you you the card inside then you have much bigger problems on your hands

Since buying this, I have been carrying Blink around with me as well as, when home, leaving it with my wallet etc. People have got used to me having it around and when I use it, never quibble or think it out of the ordinary. And seeing that I have left it around (which I certainly would not do with some other props), this too makes it all the more normal and acceptable.
Also, interestingly, since buying Blink I have been giving out more business cards than I usually do, which is another unexpected plus! Neil |

I have had this a while now but wanted to use it a bit before I posted my thoughts. The case definitely benefited from breaking it in when I received it (this is covered in the instructions with various tips) but when I did, Wow! I absolutely love it. When it was nicely broken in and I had practised with it, the peek itself became so quick and so flexible as to how and when I do it, I can almost forget that I am doing anything at all. I am really enjoying using it. I have tried all of the usual suspects when it comes to wallets and cases but this is the one I will using for the foreseeable future, it will be replacing the Jaks. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Jaks, it is brilliant, and does what it needs to perfectly well, but I honestly feel that I can perform with a lot more freedom using Blink. The name is apt, you can see the info so quickly, and there is nothing to see before or after. I have been handing it to people to hold and it literally looks like the card goes in and I hand it too them instantly. The more I use it the more I like it. It's a weird one this, because it is hard to explain to someone just how good this is without them trying it for a while and getting used to it. It may or may not work similar to how you think but until you get one in your hands and play around with it for bit you just don't quite 'get' it, I certainly didn't. As others have said before the quality of the leather is very nice and I personally like the overall look of the case. I have seen plenty of leather goods using this way of displaying a logo so that is a complete non issue for me. I'm very pleased I took a chance on picking one up
Nothing to do with the case itself but it's worth mentioning that the service I received was excellent and it arrived extremely quickly. The pride Looch takes in every aspect of his work is evident, and it's nice to see. |

Received mine as well. Initial thoughts are that it is excellent leather and construction. Really good quality all around. Mine is in the breaking in stage now but am confident that once it does, it will be the perfect tool for peeking information. Should hold roughly 15 cards with no problem (upwards of 20 most likely with time)I think which is a good balance. More than the suc, less than the lookout, a good compromise. The instructional goes over everything you need and with Looch's name on it, rest assured that it will be great quality, simply beautiful, a worker, and if anything goes wrong I have no doubt he will work it out. He is very honorable and trustworthy. Of course I wish it was cheaper simply because over the past few months I've spent several thousand on various things but the price IS 100% justified by the quality of the item you receive, let alone the support from Looch.

Lar's move is bonkers, a very nicely constructed handling and super organic.
This is what I love about releases like this, that what starts off as a solid piece is gradually refined and reinvented by others working with them. Phill

Wow! Not very often am I lost for words but I've just recieved this review from none other than Richard Osterlind
"I am the proud owner of Blink - Looch's new peek wallet, and I want to talk to you about it. Here is what you get: Looch has created a small wallet/card case, approximately 3 X 4 to be used as a peek device. It was conceived and developed from scratch over the course of many years before it finally went into production. It is made of the finest leather, the workmanship is superb and it should last you for your entire career! The secret is totally new and allows you to get your peek, in a "Blink!" As soon as that blink is over, the wallet is back to normal. You can actually get your peek as you place the wallet into your spectator's hands! What's more, if you use a standard size business card, your peek area is almost the entire size of the card! That means you can see a picture, word, name, number or whatever. Looch also supplies you with an hour-long Internet link to explain every phase of Blink's development and handling. There is no reason you shouldn't be a Blink expert in an hour or two. Frankly, not to brag, I had the moves down in about 30 minutes. As Looch says, it's a type of "knack" that you will have no trouble learning if you pay strict attention to the video. Looch has a reputation for putting out high-quality products. This may be his best one yet. If I were you, I wouldn't wait to order this!" Richard Osterlind June 2018

OK, I am very rarely on here, but I am excited about this case called BLINK by Looch. I agree 100% with Richard Osterlind. I can't say enough good things about BLINK. The following is something I posted on another forum, but wanted to share it here as I haven't been this excited about a peek case in years.
, I have been working with this for a week or so and have used it a few dozen times on various people, strangers, acquaintances, friends and family ( no paid gigs yet but one is coming up next weekend). It is excellent! Now when you first get it, you have to work the leather a bit. It is a bit difficult, at first. to get the gimmick to work smoothly. Notice I said "at first". If you work with it a bit, that problem virtually disappears. toward the end of the hour long video for BLINK, there is a section. that says "Updates". In my opinion, it should say "Tips" because there are valuable tips about the case.. One of them by Phil Smith, is to use your fingers to press up on the case so as to raise the side of the oval a tiny bit as you pull with your thumb. This works great. As time goes on a bit, you will rarely need to use this technique. Another tip ( not sure if it was on the video or on the users group) is to remove the gimmick and scrape around the edge of the oval with your thumbnail/fingernail. Do the same to the edge around the open oval with the gimmick removed. It only takes a minute or two and makes the gimmick work much more smoothly. After I worked with the case for a couple of days, all of the issues were removed and it works very well. So, you ask, why were there issues to begin with? Well, the cases were mailed out from the factory and a couple of the very fine points were not done by the manufacturer. These things are minor and easily dealt with as I said above.. Another tip is to, after peeking, slowly replace the gimmick controlling it with your thumb so it goes back slowly and silently. You don't HAVE to do this. but I find that I am more comfortable doing so as it gives me perfect control. This comes down to a matter of personal preference. It did "talk" a bit upon engaging the gimmick, but that has been minimized with use. Sometimes it doesn't talk at all. The key is to control using your thumb to replace the gimmick. Slowly and gently. And don't push it all the way back. All you need is just enough to covert the hole. There is a very fine line here, but those of you who have this will know exactly what I mean. With a little practice this will become second nature. In my opinion, it is worth the work you need to make this a flawless peek case. Remember, once you place the participant's card into the case, you never open the case again. You need not take a business card out to get the peek. There is no "Caper Case" move . etc. You put the participant's card in the case and as far as she is concerned, that is it. As far as the stitched logo, well, I HAVE seen ungimmicked wallets/cases with raised logos. Mostly in the old Wilson's Leather stores and still in top quality men's clothing stores. Also, I don't use it as my "regular wallet" . It is a business card case pure and simple. No reason to put anything else into it. I never knew why anyone needs to use a gimmicked wallet/case. as their "regular wallet". I In my walk around, I want any wallet/case I use to look elegant, not beat up like my regular wallet. To use a beat up wallet, in my opinion, is an insult to the people who hired you. The leather is top notch and is a fine quality business card case. When I am doing walk around, I want everything I use to be "top notch" I am not going to use a beat up/worn item in a paid gig. Blink fits the bill. Do I recommend BLINK? Yes, most heartily! It has become my peek case of choice.
Best regards,

For those sitting on the fence, here is another review, this time from Jheff.
With production assistance by Alan Wong (who also helped with Mark Strivings' SUC case, Luca Volpe's THE FOX, among others), Looch has created a well-designed leather business card case that features an all-new way to get a peek that will demand the attention of every serious working mentalist. If you're familiar with other peek wallets, this one works differently than all of them. The advantage with BLINK is that not only do you have full control over seeing the peek, but also that both sides of the wallet can be shown before and after the peek. The case is never opened and there are no angle problems (TeleThought Wallet owners know what I'm talking about, I'm sure). I showed this to a few magicians and mentalists who argued that this was an unnecessary feature and felt it was too clever for its own good. A performer shouldn't show both sides of the case. Well, of course, you are not going to blatantly flash both sides as if to say, "Look it's empty. I will now produce a rabbit from this!" That's magician thinking. But simply holding the wallet, lifting it vertically (showing one side) as you're pattering with the participant, getting the peek, and then casually lowering the hand and dropping it to the table (or into the participant's hands), which displays the other side, is a very subtle and natural way of showing that both sides of the wallet are opaque and normal. And, you can't do that with most business card peek wallets. So, is this better than the industry standard, Mark Strivings' SIGHT UNSEEN CASE (SUC)? This is the wrong question to ask. You see, the SUC is more of a utility business card wallet. It's most used for peeks, but it has two other very important features for a mentalist. BLINK's only function is being a peek wallet, but it is a very good one. And, so, you can't say that one is better than the other because they are different. Although I will say that if you're only using your SUC for peeking (and you really should be using the other two features), then BLINK may well be a better option. Another concern may be in wanting to know what the peek area is. Like the SUC, you cannot get a full peek of the card and the peek area is about the same, depending upon the size of the card you're using. The major difference would be the shape. The SUC lets you see a large rectangular area and BLINK provides a large, centered oval area. For the things that I need to peek, this is definitely not a problem, unless I'm requiring a drawing (which is not what I normally ask for) and my participant is an artist who draws with details stretching to the corners of the card. This is an issue I've rarely encountered. As I write this, I've had this in my hands for only a few days. The more I use this, the more I really like it. Personally, though, because the SUC has three functions and takes up less pocket space (because it's thinner), BLINK won't replace it as my everyday carrying peek wallet. There's an excellent chance, though, that I'll wind up carrying this in addition to the SUC. This is hardly saying that BLINK is not as good, nor is it worth getting. Again, they are different types of peek cases. The point is not whether BLINK improves upon any previous business card peek cases or solves any issues or is better than any other peek case. Looking at it from this angle is just wrong. And I would have to agree that, though he still uses the SUC case and has no plans to replace it, Looch's goal of finding an additional peek case that you could show both sides may be a bit of magician thinking. But that's not the point, either. This is the point: BLINK must be evaluated as a utility prop in and of itself, regardless of why it was created. To that end, it's an excellent, well-made peek case that provides a unique and effective method of peeking that's different from others. I really can't see anyone arguing with this assessment. So, it really boils down to whether this style fits your needs better than whatever you're using presently, be it the SUC, TeleThought, Jaks Wallet, etc. As I said, I've only been playing with this for a few days. Already, top mentalists have endorsed this and there's no question that the quality and uniqueness of BLINK make this a very effective tool for the working mentalist. It is definitely one of the best peek wallets ever created and certainly one of the top mentalist's products of the year. |
