I’m making a self imposed commitment to script my magic better.
I have a few tricks that I want like to use a script, rather than winging it.
The simplest one is the “Vanishing silk” (tt).
Can anyone offer suggestions on a simple script or patter.
My mind and career training has alway been more technical minded and not very creative.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Depending upon silk color, you can create fascinating patter to suit this effect.

Red Silk: Production & Vanish-- Mythology tells us about a fabulous bird known as the Phoenix. It is said to rise from the ashes of its predecessor. Usually 500 years pass before a Phoenix is reborn. Near the end of it's life cycle it is rumored that the Phoenix spontaneously combusts and erupts into a shower of fire. I wonder when the next Phoenix will reappear?

Green Silk: Envy or Greed

Yellow Silk: Homage to the Sun

Black Silk: Darkness Sleeps

Blue Silk: Sky's the Limit

Purple Silk: Prince's hit "Purple Rain"

Orange Silk: Florida Citrus

These ideas are just off the top of my head. Develop patter around these themes or create your very own. Give your magic your very own personal touch. Good Luck!

This is not necessarily something to stick to but it can help when trying to create an interesting and entertaining presentation for a trick.

First list or note everything that the audience is completely aware of during a bare bones, non verbal walk through of the trick. In this case it would be;
They can see you have a hanky
They can see you tuck that hanky into your hand
They can ‘see’ it has vanished when you open your hand
And they can see it come reappear from wherever you reproduce it from

Now set about creating a verbal presentation that doesn’t mention any of these things. Mentioning any of these things will almost certainly be redundant and removing verbal redundancy can help towards making a lot of magic more interesting to watch.

Sealegs,
That was an excellent suggestion.
That will change my approach to scripting from now on. Thank you.
