What does everyone do to archive and backup your downloads and pdfs? Do you just leave them on their servers or dl them and burn them or what?

I use two HD’s to backup all my purchased files/downloads, two so if one gets damaged I still have a backup.
Besides that, using an iPad/Phone X I stream a lot from Penguin or read with Goodreader. |

I rarely purchase PDFs - only if I have no choice. But I got a solid state 2TB hard drive to back things up, and I never delete my emails so I can always reference back to that to download it again if necessary.

I assume any business that sold me electronic content can go out of business without notice and that any storage device can fail. That means redundant backup of my valued files from personal photos to purchased downloads. My system stores in 3-4 places: On the hard drive of my laptop (only if I am currently needing to access the item to preserve disk space) which is backed up to an external drive through MacOS Time Machine, on a different backup external La Cie durable hard drive specifically for my personal content, in Dropbox, and then on a backup service (I use CrashPlan). That gives me two cloud locations owned by two separate companies in addition to my own storage media.
Over the top? Maybe. But I do a lot of video production in my day job and when a client's 2-day video shoot disappears from your system, you become highly aware of the need for redundancy and automatic backup to protect your assets. |

I store them on onedrive, my pc, tablet and phone.
There's so many places to save them it's ridiculous. |

PDFs weight little so a stick is more than enough. Videos could fill a stick very fast, however a 64gb could take many videos as well.
Google drive is good also and they sell cloud services so I assume their backup process is strong |

I keep mine on an external hard drive. I have a lot.

I did the exact same thing as Marcus, having access to PDF when I'm out is a great advantage

I have one external hdd connected to a main pc, where I keep my archive, which is then backed up to another external.
They main archive is shared out - and accessible anywhere in the house. I also use cloud services. My main one is OneDrive (mainly for OneNote. It's not a lot of space, but it's free.) I also keep the Core stored in Google Drive (they give you quite a bit for free). I keep a small USB with the Core on it, plus whatever I'm working on at the moment. |

I use an external hard drive for videos, but I've found that for PDFs, I upload them to my "personal library" on Google Books, which also lets me access the PDFs from my phone. It's a good setup as it makes the PDFs searchable for yourself (everything you upload is only available to yourself). I find this to be a better solution that Google Drive, as Google Books is formatted better for PDFs.

I upload all to Google Drive and maintain the links in an Excel sheet.

Dump it into one folder I have backed up. It's a mess.
