Just ordered one of the quickest "shut up and take my money" purchases ever: Jim Kleefeld just released a pocket version of his Horror Film Verite and Classic Film Verite. I didn't even finish reading the email before I jumped on the website and ordered one of each. This is walkaroind pocket bizarre magic GOLD. I love the effect so much and even do the fantasy steampunk version (large) at kid shows (older kids).

I'll second the good Professor's recommendation. I absolutely love Jim's Verite sets, easy to do and such an ingenious method. My 12 yr old daughter has even performed this to the puzzlement of everyone.
You can't go wrong with either the pocket version or the full sized set.

I'm sorry, but, from the description, I don't get a clear picture of the effect. Does the spectator read the entire back of the card out loud and then the performer identifies the card?

I was wondering how this compares to Directors Cut Horror Edition.

In addition, you tell them the exact number of film critics who voted for that film out of all films. " |

They get the cards, mix them up, take any card while you are blindfolded or in another room etc. and there is a list of some of the films in the set on the back of each card. They read aloud to you a handful of names of the films off the back of the one they are holding, and just from hearing the names read aloud, you can determine which card they are holding. There is no deck order that could be memorized, and no way for you to manipulate the cards. Simple principle, self working. The best part is these are very well known films, and you can have multiple people choose cards and you always know which card they have after they read out just a handful of the film names. They pick their favorite movie. Lots of fun ways to reveal their choice: mental images, favorite lines, familiar actors, etc.

This is a nice effect and the cards and packaging are top notch. Jim ships very fast and provides great communication!

I really like Directors Cut Horror Edition and this does sound similar but different enough to warrant purchasing.
