The Hype:

Bigblindmedia presents
Boris Wild's Sensations

Includes Winner of 'TRICK OF THE YEAR' at TRICS 2017 - 'PURACAAN'

You like magic when it is simple, direct, and effective? You like to be fooled by impossible effects that leave a strong impact on the audience? You like routines that make your spectators feel a magical emotion? Then Boris Wild's SENSATIONS is made for you!

SENSATIONS will allow you to perform incredibly clean predictions and coincidences that are absolutely impossible. You will even be able to find a chosen card whilst blindfolded and to influence a spectator so he always selects the cards you want.

Discover Boris Wild's best routines from his critically-acclaimed lecture SENSATIONS on this unique 2-disc set (which features over THREE hours of material).

10 MAX - A new take on the classic Ten-Card Poker Deal based on a Paul Gordon principle. A routine involving money that will fool even the most demanding spectators, (as well as other magicians)! The best part is you can adapt the routine with all different themes: mentalism, divination, poetic effect and even tricks for children...

Blind - 5 Senses Version - A tour de force where the magician performs a card effect while being blindfolded from the beginning to the end! Finally, after using his five senses, the magician finds the card folded in his mouth in the most impossible way.

Blind - Borrowed Deck Version - It is basically the Blind effect but even stronger because it is performed with a borrowed deck and it ends up with a spectacular revelation, still blindfolded! An effect that fooled many experts at the FFFF Convention.

Show-Off - Starting from the original concept of the ambitious card where "a chosen card stands out among the others", Boris has devised a new generation ambitious card routine in which a chosen card does not jump to the top but continuously turns over inside the deck. Each time in a more impossible and visual way until a totally unexpected ending!

iPOP - This is the impromptu handling with a borrowed deck of one of Boris Wild's pet routines: POP (Perfect Open Prediction). You can now perform it anywhere at any time. After making your open prediction, the spectator deals the cards face up, one by one, and stops whenever she wants. She places the next card face down and keeps dealing the remaining cards face up until the very last one. The deck is spread: the card that the spectator reversed is your prediction!

Symbiosis - An incredible effect combining prediction and coincidence with two borrowed decks. The perfect routine for the finale of your parlor show or a wedding gig.

PURACAAN - Winner of 'TRICK OF THE YEAR' at TRICS 2017 - An extremely pure ACAAN effect designed for close-up conditions with a regular deck that can be borrowed and shuffled by the spectator. Any card and any number can be named. A version that will fool and amaze even the most knowledgeable spectators.

Running Time 3 hrs 8 mins

My Take:
I have seen tons of DVD's that will teach you 8-10 tricks in an hour and some of them are quite good. On this new set by Boris Wild, he takes over 3 hours to teach you just 7 so you know he teaching is thorough. He demonstrates both the effects and techniques that won him the FISM award for card magic. He not only shows exactly how each piece is done but give you many performance tips and how to get great reactions from your audience.

One caveat here. Some of the effects require gaffs (not provided) and some require culling. This would not be for a beginner but most intermediate level magicians should be able to perform most of the routines.

And here they are:

10 Max - I saw Boris do this at a lecture and I liked it so much I bought the book from him. Super easy to do and it stuns. He also gives alternate presentations for the effect. It can be adapted to most any situation. Mentalism, kids, drinking buddies. You name it. This is one you can do right out of the box and you will.

Blind - This is a killer. While being blindfolded, Boris attempts to locate the card using his five senses. After failing with sight (blindfolded), hearing, smell and touch, all that is left if taste.. Putting the deck into his mouth and removing it leaves the card folded between his lips.

Blind - Borrowed deck version. Once again, Boris is blindfolded. This is a real blindfold, not a performance blindfold with a way to peek. Spectator picks a card and then gets to shuffle the deck. Boris is not only able to find the card without looking but does a beautiful reveal using the Revelation Pass which is also taught.

Show-Off - This could be compared to Ambitious Card but instead of rising to the top of the deck, the card turns face up in the middle of the deck several times. Really looks magical. Trevor Lewis' Cut Force is taught.

IPOP - Paul Curry's Open Prediction has become a classic card magic and many magicians have found solutions to this. This was previously released as a marketed item that required special cards. This version is totally impromptu. The nice thing is that at the end, the deck is set up to immediately repeat it.

Symbiosis - You can use two borrowed decks or provide your own. An envelope is laid on the table. Decks are both shuffled and each of the two spectators name a number from 1 - 52. Each deck is used to count down to the selected number. Both cards match and also match the prediction. Boris offers a great version to do for the happy couple if you are performing at a wedding.

PURACAAN - Boris attacks another classic with countless variations. But his version does not require a special deck or any stack. The deck can be shuffled, and any card and position can be named. This uses the technique taught in Symbiosis and is stunning. Goes to show sometimes recycling really pays off.

Conclusion: I have been a huge fan of Boris for years and was excited when I heard about this set. You get two disks for less than a lot of companies charge for one and you receive world class instruction on some great tricks. If you are at all serious about card magic, this needs to be on your shelf.
