My new ebook on the memorized deck, The Road to Riffsville, will be available within a day or so. Here's a blog post filling you in on why I wrote it and what it contains.

Given this work makes corrections to incorrect info from Workers 5 (i.e. what you said on your blog) will you give a discount to people that purchased Workers 5?
If you don't ask you don't get! |

Steve Bedwell has this to say about The Road to Riffsville: "Can't put The Road to Riffsville down and focus on anything else. (Especially frustrating because I'm at MAGIC Live!) Fascinating analysis of some of the issues I've personally experienced with the estimation aspects of memdeck work, with robust solutions. An outstanding contribution!"

Having read both Workers 5 (inspired me to learn a mem deck) and The Road to Riffsville (continued study in mem deck work), I will say that I don't at all find Riffsville to be a "correction" of Workers 5. As time has passed, further thought and technique have advanced previous handlings and verbiage. The Road to Riffsville does not in any way negate the information in Workers 5, it only clarifies the term Jazzin' and offers updated techniques in estimation. I personally still find Workers 5 to be an incredible resource that certainly stands on its own. The new book does not change that.

C-suite magic: If only you had found the same improvements I found when you first purchased Workers 5, I'd be happy to offer you a discount. However, since the items I improved only make up 1% of what is in Workers 5, I'm not sure what you'd do with forty cents.

The reviews for The Road to Riffsville are coming in. Here are three excerpts:
“Revising and clarifying his own analogy from the world of music (‘jazzing’ being the operative term here), Mike thoroughly demystifies the concept of ‘improvising’ with a memorized deck. If you follow his Road to Riffsville, you will want (and be able!) to start riffing away almost immediately.” – Pit Hartling “I was struck by how much a simple statement would illuminate something for me.” – Randy Naviaux “This work is one of reflection by a Master. Michael not only offers what works for him, if you read closely, he offers insights that can apply to everyone. This is definitely an important contribution to memorized deck magic...It’s foundational.” – Jed Brooks Smith You can read the full reviews (and leave one of your own, please) here: https://tinyurl.com/y95agptd |
