A modified version of Richard Busch's Zen tear from Peek Performances is my tear of choice at the moment (I find it a little easier to do than PCT with business cards, since you're tearing through less layers, although there is an extra movement to cover.)
Peek Encores and Peek Performances are both excellent, and are a very good introduction to peek work in general. In my opinion, none of the material in either volume is a match for Acidus Novus, in truth. On the other hand, I have one routine in particular where a Busch's Billet (From Peek Encores) is vastly preferable, and Peek Performances is about far more than just billet peeks. I can understand where the idea that Richard Busch performs "magic with pieces of paper" comes from - as with most works on billets, the descriptions are purely technical, and some of the suggested routines, poses and justifications would seem incredibly awkward and artificial if I were to copy them. I've no idea what Richard's own performances look like, but I assume they work well enough for him. |
