Looks like he posted a youtube video of this 5 years ago with no edits/cuts. https://youtu.be/CgDVk5c6X58

I understand that the pencil is gimmicked (or the gimmick attaches to a pencil) but that still doesn’t answer my question about whether or not the coin has to be switched. I imagine the coin is a special one with an attractive secret. If it is truly any coin, then I’m in and ready to purchase.
If it’s what I’m thinking, it could work with certain normal UK coins but not any normal US coins. Madison |

In the trailer performance he reached into the spectators handful of coins to borrow the penny. In this case no switch is required later (I suspect)

It’s obvious that the coin must have special properties, and if indeed it does, no switch required. U.K. coinage is perfect for this effect.

Totally agree UK pennies and 2006 onwards 10ps also work although pennies are small so would be whaf you want . If they were £2 coins Dominic wouldn’t be throwing the said coin in for free if you ask him when ordering in my opinion

He appears to just discard the pencil on the table after he finishes the rubbing surely that can’t happen?? There must be a trip to the pocket??unfair if he does

You got to be careful when asking to borrow a uk penny because pre 1992 coins wont work

Thanks for the link to the old video. As expected, the "clink" gives the method away - I suppose it would still play well in a noisy environment.

It looks like the pencil is put to one side, can this be done or does it need to stay in the hand or pocketed.

Wouldn't you need refills? Unless of course, you transfer the gimmick to the item needed.

LMAO!!!!
You guys really 🤔 it’s the ✏️!!! I’m not ☝️ for revealing methods. But I can’t help it. The table has a flap. That’s the sound you’re hearing. He sends you a hinge. You can just buy ☝️ at any hardware store. It’s not hard to cut the hole needed. Just google how to cut a 1 inch square. I’m sorry to openly reveal it. But you guys were making me 😆 thinking so many other 💡 s Your welcome Mike |
