Paul has been on there 3 times.
"The New York Papers," Mark Twain once said,"have long known that no large question is ever really settled until I have been consulted; it is the way they feel about it, and they show it by always sending to me when they get uneasy. "

Here are a few quotes regarding the trick from a few nobodies:
The great Dominique Duvivier first showed me "C.I.B." back in 2002, in Madrid. I was more than fooled! The truth is the impossibility of this miracle haunted me for years. I simply had no explanation. It was MAGIC. And it is MAGIC! Christian Engblom The fantastic routine C.I.B. is another diabolical classic from the mind of Dominique Duvivier. The routine has it all. It's practical, self-contained. It's easy to do and it fools everyone... including Penn & Teller. Perhaps the best part is that is an extremely unusual plot that makes it stand out in any show. You will use this masterpiece for years to come! Bob Kohler It's an extreme rarity when an entirely new effect is created and it's equally rare when an entirely new method is created. C.I.B. combines both of these. It is not only a startling new and ingenious effect but it also introduces an incredibly clever and utterly original method. This miracle is one of the great things to come along in the last 20 years. Bill Kalush Duvivier puts in your hands, not just a fantastic triumph, but a potent weapon that is sure to improve many of your existing routines as well. Dani DaOrtiz |

Videoman,
yes I am looking at the show as a legitimate contest as I believe it should be. However, what you are saying 'P&T are trying to produce an entertaining and successful TV show' is true. I believe that they do not have to have their audience believe they were fooled when they were not to be entertaining & successful Enjoyed our discussion. Charlie |

Is it a gimmicked bag, or can you use any?

Christian Engblom, Bob Kohler, Bill Kalush and Dani DaOrtiz say this is pretty much magic, you would hope they don't think the obvious is so impressive tbh.

Interesting. I’d hate to think you have to be sitting and perform some kind of deck switch at some point.

That's the prob for me with this effect, whatever the method is, the bag screams switch, I could do the same thing by using my pocket, not sure how fooling it would be....

Always funny how magicians here write "oh, this is so obvious" and yet their assumption is completely wrong I know just the Engblom version that is on this as well and at least in his version any bag or cover can be used. There is absolutely nothing in the cloth but I don't know Duvivier version for sure. But seeing what comes with this, ie two decks of cards, I am pretty sure I know exactly what Duvivier version is as well and in that case the cover could be any cover and there is no deck switch... But that is just speculation

Im not saying I know what the method is, I'm saying the bag makes it look like a switch, whatever the actual method is...

Whenever a magi fiddles around behind his back, under the table or within the cover of a bag it always appears 'trick' to me instead of 'magic'. But horses for courses, of course.

So, if the bag is inspected before the cards are placed within, I’m not sure how this is done. It’s one fooling PnT but fooling me is another thing altogether.

When and where is this Penn and Teller show on? I don't think it's available in Canada. Are past episodes available anywhere online?
