Hey guys,
Marc Kerstein (creator of WikiTest) has just released a brand new 27 page PDF called Tricks With Your Phone. Marc has this to say about it: "It includes a few tricks and even teaches you how to make your own. The best trick in the PDF, I think, is titled 'An Impromptu Book Test With ANY Website' Check out the website below to read the full run down and pick it up today. It's instant download and you can even pay using Apple Pay! Tricks With Your Phone by Marc Kerstein ||Available Now From my first read through I can tell you this. It's brilliant, filled with genius ideas and if you do any form of magic using your phone, you will 100% take something (if not many things) away from this. Highly recommended. Tricks With Your Phone by Marc Kerstein ||Available Now Enjoy! |

Ok that looks interesting. I ❤️ Wiktests and do it loads of times. It mentions a booktest with any website - now that’s crazy!

I've bought this, mainly for the "booktest with any website".
Apart from that effect, I haven't really done much more then read what was in the rest of the PDF, so I can't comment on how good the rest of the ideas work. Tricks with Siri don't interest me that much. The booktest idea works, and does what it's meant to. Yes it can be any website, as long as it's your own phone. There is a bit of memorisation needed like most book tests.. however this needs a tad more because of the method. A crib could also work.. that's what I'll be using first. The downside for me is a big downside.. however there may be a way to mitigate it. You need to take the phone back after they've arrived at an article on their favoured website. Now, when reading the PDF it seemed like this was just a couple of moments. But it's not, on my phone it takes 12 to 15 seconds. This is a painfully long time, and I was really hoping it would be quicker. Presentation can cover this (the one in the PDF I wouldn't use, as it's based off of memory demonstrations). I have a presentation I'm working on that will cover the time. I might have to PM Marc as well about speeding the process up a bit. Overall, this is worth it.. but it's a collection of concepts, so you have to put in a bit of work on your own end. |

I have been playing with these effects today. I haven't had time to test them for a real audience yet (although I will.) But I have played with each one of the effects.
The book starts with an introduction to what the method is which the following effects all utilize. All of the routines are built around one key thing. This key thing is a utility which allows for an extraordinary amount of effects to be born. Honestly, the effects Marc gives here are just the tip of the iceberg. In reality, I imagine there will be hundreds of effects born out of this method. I am VERY excited to try to come up with my own effects and to see other people's effects in the facebook group over time. Impromptu Book Test with Any Website: The spectator looks up any website on the performer's phone, thinks of a long word, and the performer tells them their word. That's how the routine will be remembered by the audience. As one of the above users noted, it does have to be on the performer's phone, and there is a moment after they've selected a website when the screen must go out of view. For me, it takes exactly eight seconds for the dirty work to take place (yes, I just timed it.) Marc justifies the action by claiming to be memorizing the page. I don't particularly like that from a presentational standpoint, so I'll be trying to think of a different justification which better fits my purpose. But WOW what this accomplishes is kind of mind boggling. I can't say much as to not give anything away, but holy cow, the fact that this can happen blows me away. There is some memory work involved, but I think you could have it down in a day if you spent some time with it, though. Siri Knows Your Card: The spectator selects a card. The performer pulls out his phone and the spectator asks Siri what card he or she picked. Siri immediately identifies their voice (and names who they are) and tells them the color of their card. Siri finishes by saying a text will be sent to THEIR phone with the final answer. Seconds later, the spectator receives a text from the performer's number with a message that names their card. This is one of the best uses for Siri I've seen. The message spoken by Siri is shocking and it gets even more so when the spectator receives a text with a mini conversation which concludes with their thought of card. It can be any card, no force. I like this one a lot. The only downside is you must perform it for someone whose name and phone number you already know. Because of that, this is more suited for casual environments. Siri Knows Your Coin Toss: The spectator tosses a coin three times. The performer pulls out his phone and asks Siri to toss three coins. Oddly, the outcome of its coin toss perfectly matches the spectator's outcome. This is another very fun one with Siri. I think the system Marc came up with is great for this. My one complaint about this trick (and the last one) is that there is an odd thing at the moment which requires the volume to be soft at the beginning of Siri's speech. It's an odd quirk which will hopefully go away, but for now, it's a little annoying, but it doesn't get in the way of the effect too much. Initialed Card Prediction: The spectator names any card. The performer shows the last photo in his photo album is a picture of the card they named with the spectator's initials written on the face of the card. This is another great one. The spectator names absolutely any card. The initials being on the card is a great kicker. This does require you know their initials before you begin, but you can input their initials as you "receive a text." I really like this one and I think it does its job very well. I'm amazed that Marc was able to make this happen. Bonuses: At the end of the book are a list of several effects you could create using this method. These are unfinished idea starters to get your creative juices flowing. Everything you need to perform all of the routines in the book are provided. They are ready to go right out of the package. That said, if you want to come up with your own effects, it will take some work (especially in the beginning) largely due to the learning curve. I imagine once you play with it some, it will make more sense. I know that I am super excited to play with this utility. I have to give a massive thank you to Marc for introducing me to this wonderful world of opportunity. This is quite literally ahead of the game when it comes to magic with technology. I know this is totally new to me, and had I seen any one of these performed, I would be totally clueless of the method. I think this is definitely worth the price of admission. You get some great effects, but more importantly, you will learn about something brand new which opens so many doors for technology-based magic. Madison |

Also, Marc has added two effects to the list (thanks to the Facebook group) and one of them allows for a similar effect to Chris Philpott’s Hundred Monkeys where they can’t read, but it works with any website the spectator pulls up. I love this and will be using it. Madison |

Great stuff, as usual. I don't even use an iPhone anymore but still purchased this. Can still pull out an old busted screen iPhone for occasional tricks..

Plumped for this at the weekend and I'm very glad I did. The main routine is worth the price of admission but the other ideas are fantastic too.
