Because the product can be unreliable. When a product is unreliable what is one going to do after the 60 days? "Doubtful" - Not doubtful as E makes no claim that they repair props or gimmicks. There is no unwarranted heat. This particular subject started with a question being brought up. So far, the answer lines up with The House of Fire providing higher quality customer service. Rick at The House of Fire is very personable and customer service oriented. There are those who have had and continue to have issues with Ellusionist. If you desire the quality service that Rick provides I would go his direction. If you don't care so much and are willing to take any particular risk, there is the E-option. ...As evidenced in part from RNK's post above.

No matter what the House of Fire website says, Rick will standby his products 100% for life within reason. What does "within reason" mean? It means that if you start pulling things apart or drop the gimmick in water your out of luck. Barring such behavior, the man will take care of you.
Can E make the same claim?

I guess if we can operate on “ no matter what a website says “ we can assume something different than yeah sure then E and any company out there can say whatever. Make no mistake there is no complaint from me about House of Fire at all, or for Ellusionist for that matter. I’ve dealt with E , never had a problem, never dealt with Rick but am sure he is top notch all the way. The thing I find ridiculous is the comparison brought to them both here. An item no longer out, being compared to an item not yet out “ and already assuming it will be defective “ turns into what seems like an assault on E. If you don’t like a company , don’t deal with them, but remeber not everyone has had your experience, I own a business and deal with the public everyday for the last 35 years, you can surely find a few people that will tell you something negative, but the high majority of our customers will tell a different side (. Which is why we are here this long ). Nuff said.

I guess you must have missed the misleading ads that Ellusionist puts out with some of their products. Including the Pyro Pen.

I think this has been beaten like a dead horse. RNK, you have made your point multiple times in these 3 pages. I 100% understand that you have done so to inform other purchaser's which is a great thing but that has now been accomplished (multiple times). Let's move past this... |

Anything objective sticks to the facts, but anything subjective has feelings.
Objective: It is raining. Subjective: I love the rain! Yes there is subjectivity but that is what much of this forum is. There is also objectiveness to which we certainly can agree that there is some misleading advertising pertaining to this thread's topic.

There is no controversy between E and Sansminds .....
Here is an excerpt from the Pyro Pen page. For legal reasons I have to say that this excerpt is generic and not about any one company. "THE LONG ROAD In development since we launched original Pyro in 2014. The Pen was first prototyped by our original Pyro builder Jared Manley when he was hired to prototype Pyro's for us; he's the special effects guy on Game Of Thrones... so the guy knows FIRE. The idea of a fire-shooting pen was before it's time and seemed too radical. So we decided to work backwards towards it. Like iPhones getting slimmer, and more powerful, the Pyro line has followed the same diet. 4 Barrels. Then 2 Barrels. Now 1 Barrel. Each time reducing the size, but adding more umph. Having this goal in mind, we've spent years sharing and promising magicians we'll do it. We're proud to say that we kept that promise. Many will imitate Pyro, some will even try to sell off our back through their product naming tactics... but there's no mistaking originality, quality or presence. Coca-cola needs store brand cola to show people why it's #1. In that same vein, Ellusionist vows to pursue the quality and safety of it's innovations for decades to come... no expense spared. As the old saying goes, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys." |

I bought one of the original Pyro's back in 2014 and had a minor issue with the battery compartment. I contacted Adam and he immediately had me return it as he sent out a new one. There wasn't questioning over the issue at all. I still continue to use it without issue. He even followed up to see if all was okay. I would have no hesitation buying Pyro Pen or any of his products. I have no affiliation with Ellusionist or Adam and only wanted to point out that Adam stood behind his product and IMO was made and packaged with great quality.

Wait, shouldn’t you get elephants? 🤔. Now, if you’re paying bananas, the monkeys would be expected. Anyway, went ahead and did the preorder. Hope this is as cool as it sounds.

Here's how it's going to go:
Your going to spend a minute rolling flash cotton and paper and into little projectiles. You load it in to the pen. It will shoot out in to a single fireball... just like the video. It's cool to be sure. but then you gotta roll more cotton and paper in to the pen...one by one. The minute spent on the load will slowly start to outweigh the .0025 second joy of fireball. Don't mean to be cynical but that's the reality. Neat looking device though. |

That is great news! How long after your original purchase was it when you returned your Pyro? [/quote]
It was about two weeks or so. The battery compartment wasn't contacting correctly 100% of the time. The spring was askew. I contacted Adam and there was no discussion. Just send it back and a whole new unit with accessories went out. There was no "try this to fix it" It didn't matter how much paper or cotton I had used. I'm not even sure if I had to pay the shipping back. I just remember afterwards thinking this is a stand up guy that I wouldn't hesitate doing business with again. I'm on the fence about buying the pen only because I have the Pyro and it still works perfectly. |

You should of sent it back to the 3rd party. It like buying a new truck off s used lot and it breaking down. The dealership not going to fix it for free??????? I have had nothing but great customer service from illusionist .

I don’t agree with third-party used I do agree if you buy it through a different dealer and they should back up the warranty
