Does anyone know where I can get a see-thru silk for the Ammar routine? I like the routine but I have no idea where to acquire a sheer nylon silk.

thanks,

frank

Hey fstarsinic,

I don't know where you can get just the silk, but you can order the whole trick (including a silk - $6) here.

Hope this helps!

Oh, that's great. Does it come with
4 beautiful silver dollars? NOT!!!

Ok. Well, that looks like a bargain
even without the silver dollars.

Thank you!!!

I bought one. I chose a red silk and now I'm wondering if I should have gone with white like was on the video? Any opinions?

Just as a matter of interest Michael tends to use Silver Eagles when he dems the effect. Smile

Hi,
I bought my see-thru silk at a juggler's supply shop.

A great place to buy silks is at second hand stores. I have tons of them that I bought for next to nothing. The most I ever paid was $2.00 for a 36" blue silk.

I found my sheer silk for about $3 at a local department store. Just look around and ask the sales people. They'll help you find it. Took me only an afternoon of looking at the mall. Smile

I know this sounds stupid, but shop where old ladies go to buy those silks, at department stores.

I have always loved the trick, but feel strange waving a sheer silky "old lady scarf".

Frank.

http://www.ammarmagic.com is where I bought mine. It came with a little, reprinted (and somewhat revised) set of instructions for the routine.

I bought mine in light blue, and it works great!

I don't think the color of the silk makes much difference. It is a coin effect, not a silk effect.

Like others, I got mine directly from Michael at a lecture.

BTW, this is a wonderful, visual piece of magic. Highly recommended if you don't know it.

A nice follow up to this routine is to use the silk for a net in "3 balls in a net". Silent Mora. Dai Vernon, Johnny Thompson explains it quite well in the L&L video. Also Nate Kranzo has some lovely touches on the coins thru silk in his DVD. Best regards, Christopher Smile

Hello

I don't know if anyone brought this up yet. Wal-Mart has a fabric and craft section in all their stores. They have all kinds of material that would be good for any presentation. I just bought three yards of a black silk with silver moon and stars. Perfect a Halloween Zombie act.

I gave up looking for and just went ahead and ordered them from http://www.ammarmagic.com. They are cheap and it was not worth my time driving around.
