We'll it was getting off subject on the other forum/post under card spinning, I think? So if anyone wanted to speak about them, come in here.

I was trying to make things less confusing in there.

They are useful to me. =) I can use a regular boarded deck. As in Bicycles. Taking off the gloves while containing a stock of cards in back palm makes it seem like nothing could be attached to your hand. You're taking off the gloves. To the spectators, they think, yeah it's something to do with the gloves (assuming). Then once I smoothly pull off the gloves (with the stock of cards) in backpalming, pivot, etc. Shows your hand back and front.

But these gloves give more of a better grip than regular gloves. You can spit, taught by Jeff McBride's Art of Card Manipulation Vol. 2 (assuming).

Overall it was getting too confusing in the other post. Seems like a few are interested. So making another post would make this less confusing. =)

I never heard of this product. Just did a search on Denny Magic and nothing shows up.

Cardini used Leather Chamis gloves from what I have read. Is this the type of glove you are speaking of? Are they white? As I have never seen a pair of white leather formal gloves.

Please post a site where these can be obtained.

I can't find it either, but I will. I think the last time I purchased anything was through http://www.magicsmith.com. But they don't seem to have it anymore. I will find out where I found them. Maybe I was on a rush to geting more flash powder for my show, and found them at the local magic shop in Pikes Place Market. But overall it's true! I tell you IT'S TRUE. Maybe it isn't called Cardini's Manipulation Gloves. But I'm 90 percent sure that it's called something similar to that title. But when I find it online or get my pictures, I'll post it.

I am not doubting you. I did find great good quality cotton gloves at our local magic shop with the snap at the wrist. They were just cotton, not leather.

They only got one supply in and now they are gone. Their next supply was cheaper and not as good as the previous supply. Luckily I purchased 2 pairs, but they do wear out on the fingers due to friction and use.

Oh sorry I think I took your post a different way. But sorry. Um.... I think we are talking about the same pair of gloves, but mine are cotton around, but the palm has a thimble texture to it. But overall I think the title "Cardini Manipulation Gloves" was after what he has created; some people may want to have the same effect with gloves. So someone decided to create one and name it "Cardini's Manipulation Gloves." I have no clue.. haha

Mine turn yellow at the tips.. =/

I get loads of white cotton gloves as I work with motion picture film. You will find good supplies of these gloves at laboratory suppliers. Like the place you would get test tubes/beakers at.

Cardini, WOW!!! Where do I begin, CREATOR! ARTIST! GENIUS!! An act NEVER to be seen before him or since.

He used what are known as "kid lamb gloves" or thin leather chamic gloves.
Whenever he did use cotton, and I was told by his wife Swam that he experminted w/ any and all styles of gloves, he would lick his thumb just before going on, as cotton gloves that have "no tack" and can throw some real "headaches" your way.

His wife has given me a number of decks of his manipulation cards that were used by him personally over the years. One of which is autographed simply...Cardini, London Palladium.

I've been kinda looking for a good pair of manipulation gloves ever since I got The Art of Card Manipulation.

What I've used before are marching band gloves. They come really tight on your hand so you can play an instrument. Nice white cotton, except they seem to get dirty really fast.

Many years ago, when I did a cards-and-doves act, I went thru literally dozens of different types of gloves before finally settling on one. The gloves sold at formal wear places were thin and cheesy (and nylon); the fabric in others was sort-of okay but the gloves didn't have snaps (which help in getting &%$#* in and out). The ones that finally did the trick were called "parade gloves" and sold at a military uniform place. Nice, thick, and heavy. Easy to use and wash, and always looked sharp. I bought several pairs, and they lasted for years.

BTW, my all-time favorite manipulation books were the Ganson "Routined Manipulation" series. Any thoughts out there on these vs the Jeff McBride books or others? Feel free to PM me rather than going off the subject again. Thanks much.

The gloves you found would be perfect if they did not make them in a short design. This is not good formal dress attire.

The elastic around the wrist does not permit the Ganson load feature.

Otherwise they sound like they may work. They have a lot of features.

I was in Los Angeles about 15 years ago and found a glove shop. It looked like it had been around for 50 years and had every type of glove you can imagine. Boxes of gloves were piled up to the ceiling. The owner said that Cardini and Marvin Roy both bought their gloves from him way back when.

I don't know if the shop is still around. It was a small place and the man was elderly, so I suspect the shop has since closed. But maybe not.

He didn't say, and unfortunately, I didn't ask. I do remember that he had autographed pictures of each behind his counter.

The shop catered mainly to marching bands; I don't think he was aware of how famous Cardini and Marvin are to our magic world.

The gloves I bought were heavy cotton. Nice and long with button snaps. I bought 4 pair and had them dyed red (it was the 80's afterall!)

Cardini gloves are drumming gloves from marching bands look up marching band uniforms and you will most likely find hundreds of different colors of gloves.

I think that he modified them though in some way. I recall reading something about that so that they would grip better.
