Are they really that great...I mean really, if you have a deck like that, lay people will automaticly think it is gaffed!
just because I am young does not mean I can't do the things I do.

Young Freak, I like them and have been using them for both flourishes and certain effects lately. As for the gaffed deck issue, if anyone says anything, I let them examine the cards all they want and shuffle them as much as they like.
From my own personal experience, laymen have never heard of Bicycle cards; to them cards are just cards, in fact, in most homes you'll just find decks from free giveaways, airlines, and mostly decks with back designs that the owners thought looked cool. Of course many do own Bicycle/Bee/Tally Ho decks, but which layperson really remembers or cares about the brand? They haven't heard of an air cushion finish, ease of fanning or anything like that. So I guess my point is, specs know I handle cards a lot so it's not strange that I'd choose a "cool" looking deck. I've had people ask me if my regular bikes are trick decks so I'm not concerned about hearing it with these black ones, cus they can just examine them, hehe. Anyhow, these are just my thoughts on this for some of you to think about, lemme knwo what you think. |

El_loco333, you hit it right.
I think people worry too much about these things. This deck is not going to replace your everyday deck. Just for some occasions. On the same line of thinking, one should never use a rainbow deck or a Tarot deck, just because they are different. I hope mine arrive soon. I have two more packages to arrive and it's been two weeks since they left. ama little worried.
Yours,

I have some coming also. I got them.. well.. just because they looked pretty neat on the site... but I'm starting to think about ways to start with one, and slowly color-ize it by deck swaping or card switches.
Or even a packet of the cards. I keep thinking of the black/white to color transition from Wizard of Oz. Phil |

I actually don't like the principle of Black Tigers...
When performing magic, I appreciate the possibility to be humble - but this deck of cards oozes of the opposite.

I think it would depend on what type of effects you are doing. I agree, I like to seem fairly natural when doing magic effects, but some voodoo effects or perhaps some mentalist effects would work with these cards.
Something along the lines of a these are a specially made deck made by "insert mystic group/psychic institute here" which allows a person to more easily focus on a selected playing card and allows you to more easily project your thoughts. Something along those lines. I know that's bad, came off the top of my head, but with some work I think you could effectively work them into an effect. |

Yeah, I like your way of thinking...
Immediately the trick "Card Warp" came into my mind - cause it's supposed to be Voodoo (referring to Ellusionist). People would "know" that the cards was faked, but would then be silent after I ripped the cards and gave them away for inspection Hmm - you gave me some nice ideas... Thanx man!

I feel that these cards were intended mostly for flourishes and non-standard magic effects. By non-standard, I mean most people are not going to use these for normal "pick a card" tricks. For color changes, or magic with darker themes like voodoo or black magic, these cards are there. I have some on the way and without seeing them know they'll never replace my standard bikes. They will be a fun attention getter and conversation piece though. I can understand why people may not be jumping out of their skins to get a deck, but I see no reason to dump on them as a bad idea. Hopefully in the next weeks people will be posting some good routine ideas after they've played with them a bit.

Mercury52, well said! People keep forgetting that they're still just a deck of cards! Folks are taking them too seriously.
And I'm with you Nathanpain, collecting is fun! |

The first day they came out, I tried to log in to see if I could get a few, and their server was currently in the haywire phase....so I couldn't even get close to ordering.
I still haven't ordered to this day, and don't plan on it. If they are going to promote something so much, they should at least have the technical skills to provide them.

These decks will replace normal bikes you just wait and see! Everybody's going to use use them because they're wicked and they will make you kill when you do magic with them. They are enchanted by the devil. You don't need skill! Every card trick is self-working with these babies! Try it you'll see! The cards just move by themselves!
This is serious.
ask harry why he dont want people to know he makes $200 a month for all these ads! thats like $4000 a month! oh but SHHH! harry isnt a real person!

I don't agree with that. They will never replace a normal deck. They are not meant to.
