Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could recomend some tricks for use when strolling around a fair? I have a few already but I think I need a few more. I will be doing some rope magic as well as bitten coin/coin through bottle, ring and string, sponge ball tricks. I do not do any "clowning effects" or card tricks though. Thanks Magic Mike

If you have the right story, the Professor's Nightmare seems perfect for the sort of venue to which you are referring.
It's quick, you start and finish clean, it's an immediate reset, and it take up virtually no space. But be prepared to REALLY do it well! cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

Rubber band magic such as Crazy Man's Handcuffs or a torn and restored band would probably work well.
Some type of simple silk magic might also go over well.

Hi all,
Thanks for the tips! I know the proffesors nightmare well however my patter for it sucks! I have checked the web for patter but have found only general quips and one liners, but nothing I could work into a story. Would any of you be willing to send me your whole patter line for this effect so that I may adapt it to suit me. anything else for strolling magic? Magic Mike

Hey madmanmike1
A really good one is using the Mismade Bill with the Invisible Bill Switch. It's a really good trick. Brad

Thanks magicbrad, I have a $10,000 bill I can use to switch instead of a mismade bill.
Great ideas all please keep them coming! Magic Mike

Spoonge Bunnies. For some reason goes over much better than sponge balls, which is a shame 'cos I have a great sponge ball routine that I put many many Hours into perfecting, and a crappy bunny routine that I put together in 5 minutes that Kills, Go figure.
I agree, band stuff. I often start with band through borrowed ring , into CMH into band on wrist ( Greg Wilson) Invisible Deck is a Killer. Cheers Andy

Thanks andy!
I do a type of sponge ball routine by Jay Sankey called "Earplugs" They are sponge balls but yellow and shaped like enlarged earplugs. I can't seem to pull off a good CMH so I am holding off on performing that trick untill I can get some one on one instuction from a fellow magi. I do perform jumping bands though as well as a climbing ring trick with the rubber bands. Sorry andy, I don't do card tricks (okay, okay I do "card warp" and "nomatic void" but I don't use playing cards) Thanks again keep em coming! Magic Mike

A set of D'lites after sunset or at dusk is usally very entertaining, especially for the kids. Another good and fairly easy one is "Billoon" by Mark Jenest from the Miracles While You Wait video. IF you do any coin work, well then that opens up things a bit. Hope it helps.
