I have many tricks where I need to put 3 coins in my pocket but I don't want them to clink!
How can I go about this?! I've tried palming one then dropping one and placing the other in, tissue paper in my pocket, but neither seems 100% safe. How do you guys do it? Thanks in advance! K of D

Never tried it, but off the top of my head....
1. Silly putty 2. Coin clip 3. Get something out of the pocket while putting the coins away. Harris Deutsch Laughologist

King,
The answer would depend on how the coins are held when you are trying to go south with them. If they're in edge grip the answer is different than if they're in classic palm. |

Are we talking gadabout coins here? The last phase...you are acting like you are putting one coin pocket, but are really putting three. What I do here is have some more coins in my pocket, so that in the first two phases, I make clinking noises when I'm supposed to be coins in pocket. That way, the third time sounds just the same.
If we're not speaking of the gadabout coins, you might still try a similar principle. Don't make one thing silent, make everything noisy. |

I agree with mithrandir - noise, make them aware of the other coins in your pocket a time or two before you need it for the coverage, they will be conditioned to the noise and therefore be misdirected, IMO.

You might want to check out joe porper's site. He has a rattler worn like a watch. This way you can do a multiple coin re******* vanish on your left hand with the rattler and shake to produce the sound , while your right hand either drops the coins in your pocket or retrieve a wand or something.

A wad of tissue paper or a bit of foam rubber.

If you have a handkerchief in the pocket, as suggested, try this. If it is the finish to Gadabout, then first place the coin that is at fingertips towards the left side of the pocket, on one side of the wadded up handkershief. Then release one coin from CP on the opposite side of the handkerchief wad. Finally relase the last coin onto you cupped fingers and place it in the middle of the wadded up handkerchief. It sounds confusing and complicated, but basically, just use the handkershief as a pad in such a way that none of the coins touch.
The whole process would not take 3 seconds. Just play around with it, but the handkerchief is the best idea. If you try to place three coins into your empty pocket without noise, you probably will look suspicious. And of course, with ladies around, we never want to look suspicious when our hands are in our pockets... Sorry, that was horrible.

Thank you everyone for all the ideas here. I also am working on a Gadabout Coins effect and have had a hard time putting all coins away in the pocket.
Over time I used a hank in the pocket and this way seems the best.

You can roll/fold the coins into the hank with just a bit of practice... in far less than three seconds.

I use to worry a lot about the noise coins and other objects make as they are put away, that is until I seen Scotty York do his Color Changing Knives, At the end he just dumps all the knives in his apron, they make lots of noise, but no one ever noticed but me, because I was watching to see how he handled it.
There's useally background noise to cover. Best Joe
