Unlike you, my card skills are lacking so what self working card effects do you rate the best in card magic Thanks Sly |

Practice is an excellent way to eliminate a lack of card skills.

Sly,
I would suggest you get the very old book Scarne on Card Tricks. There are several great self-working effects in it, that I still perform from time to time. Another book that I have not had the chance to review is entitled "Self-Working Card Tricks" by Karl Fulves. All magic effects are very subjective. What is a great trick for one will fall flat for another. I suggest you look through the available material and start out performing the effects you enjoy doing. The battle is half won at that point.

As I have seen Paul use this one, try 'Triple Co-incidence'.
Although I also agree with Steven above. Scarne on Card Tricks is excellent. One of the first books I had. And you may even find his "Quadruple Coincidence" effect which is really very good.

Sly,
These guys are putting you on the right track with Scarne on Card Tricks. Great book with many, many non-sleight routines for you to try out. You might also look up Vernon's "Emotional Reaction" from the Inner Secrets trilogy... Paul |
