I was just watching David Blaine performing a trick in which he make a grass filled with wine explode on a table.
I this a cammera trick or is a gimmick involved? If so,which supplier sales it Thanks |

You make it, not purchase it. it's not practical, requires much setup..

Maybe you can make interest on breaking a lamp on your hand(just between two fingers) on any place!!! There is a gimmick very good to this!!!!

I agree! I perform the Exploding Lightbulb and the gimmick is very well made. It gets a huge reaction and you can do it anywhere. I once booked a Christmas party for a Menard's store (much like a Home Depot) by walking the manager over to their new boxed bulbs, letting him take any one out and I made it explode right in front of him.

You can try eating light bulbs. There is an act that travels the world to see this. I think you can also witness it in Coney Island.

I think Andrew Mayne teaches lightbulb eating in one of his freakish videos.

In response to dynamiteassasin's comments on eating the light bulb:
Please be very careful with this as some light bulbs are treated with a chemical on the inside that is very poisonous and could at best make you sick at worst could kill you. If you are going to attempt this stunt after the light bulb explosion use clear light bulbs that do not have the white coating on the inside, and never under any conditions use a florescent bulb for this.

Mayne teaches it in a book, and it is more of a joke. You put a lightbulb in a bag, and appear to smash it. Then you dump the glass in your mouth. Then you explain that you really just ate sugar, and the lightbulb is safe in a secret compartment of the bag. You then rip up the bag, finding no lightbulb, and spit some metal out of your mouth.
How much is the exploding lightbulb gimick? I'm assuming that it is a messy trick because glass ends up everywhere. Brian

If I remember correctly I paid $45 for it when I purchased it about 2 years ago. I will say that I have gotten my money back out of it. I performed this at a trade show in Vegas for a client, and got that audience to chant the companies name loud prior to the light exploding. Picture this Convention hall with 6,000 people in it and about 150 people chanting your companies name at the top of their lungs it creates a buzz. I was approached by no less than 20 different companies prior to leaving that show and booked 9 of them for engagements putting good money back into my pocket over the next 3 months. I would say that it was money well spent.
Regarding the mess it can be controlled if you are creative. I use two spectators holding a large 40 inch silk and wearing safety glasses and mittens. You can build a lot of good stuff into the dressing up of the volunteers. This one way that you can also use a good mentalist routine with some comedy without cheapening the effect and make it look as the audience had something to do with the outcome. It works for me but you should fit it to your personality.
